I think this would enhance the night flight experience and immersion.

Volumetric lighting works, but it doesn’t quite have the same effects as the videos does it.

In the first video you can also see the red beacon flash in the clouds before the plane.

This other wish post is related to clouds, and I think would be great if implemented. Give it a look:
