Re-installing world updates in the content manager did not fix the issue. However this made me checking the file structure in …\Official\OneStore. The following folders have been updated on 12 JUL 2024:

fs-base-nav
fs-base-genericairports
fs-base-ai-traffic

After removing those folders and forcing re-download upon starting MSFS, the default airport selection has been restored.

Thanks for your input that made me investigate in the right direction!

This did not work for me… what did work was (Steam Edition) deleting the following folders:

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\DCE
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SceneryIndexes

My symptoms were various airports not being found on the map screen - I could type the ICAO, but the airport name wouldn’t be found. I could see gates, select one for departure but clicking the Fly Now button would do nothing.

Problem solved.

Hi @alex7776676,
If the solutions mentioned so far in this topic have not worked for you, perhaps the information in these two threads might help:

Missing airport FGBT Bata in Africa. North of the town of Bata is a very large airport. Bata, Litoral, GQ. it has a working METAR and TAF. 1.90N/9.80E

Missing Airport in 2024:

Badajoz, Spain. LEBZ

Which is a shame as a local farmer’s field is included (LETE).

Site of Badajoz Airport in MSFS 2024:

For missing airports, please review/participate to that thread: MSFS 2024 Airport / Helipad Issue Tracker
