Aloha , any recommended addons for Hawaii ? Mahalo

It is odd as the guns covering was only shipped in the Orbx version, unless you have a very old version of the Vessels Core Library installed?

I have some good news on the weapon front in general. Microsoft are revising their policy restricting “any depiction of a weapon” to restriction of “Any depiction of a weapon except on real-world static memorials, signage, logos”.

This will allow us to provide the model of the USS Missouri and USS Bowfin that is included in the Orbx library, with guns. It also means we can do the same with the museum ships included in our UK South East scenery at Chatham Historic Dockyard for example.

EDIT: The updated model in the upcoming version (subject to MS testing and approval)

What information are you looking for? I’m running a 13900k, RTX 4080, 32g DDR5 ram, 980 pro 2G and I’m on Win10 64.

I’m running the sim with the following settings:

Thanks. I’ll try to replicate at this end - Please email me at contactus@seafrontsims.com and we can follow up.

Thank you, email sent.

The “Mighty Mo”, default settings (no scenery add-ons), after WU13.

I tried it, but was slightly disappointed. Something that I generally shy away from are airport add-ons that require other add-on downloads for full functionality. This one has multiple dependencies that frankly, I am just not keen to clutter up my system with. Perhaps it’s just me…

I just have a folder that has all the dependencies. Like, all the ones on Flightsim.to.

I use an Addons Manager to activate whatever regions I’m flying in, and a couple of dozen extra asset files don’t significantly impact loading speed or drive space.

I do not believe this is the case. I have now done numerous tests trying several combinations.

I have removed Vessels Hawaii and WU13 and the white hex pattern is not there when flying over Pearl Harbor.

I have removed Vessels Hawaii from the sim and reinstalled WU 13 and the white hex pattern is not there.

I have removed WU13 and installed Vessels Hawaii and the white hex returns.

I have installed WU13 and and installed Vessels Hawaii and the white hex is visible.

As far as I have tested, the white hex only appears when Vessels Hawaii is present and it only appears in the actual harbor. It does not appear as soon as you leave the harbor area. It will appear whether WU13 is present or NOT present. It also appears to cause an elevation problem on the water as seen below. It only appears when Vessels Hawaii is installed and it only appears to be in the Harbor where you have done work to clean up the awful looking satellite imagery of the water.

I don’t have any visible grid pattern, but that elevation issue shown above is what I see around Ford Island in the harbor, which I mentioned in a post last week. However, removing Vessels Hawaii has no effect. The elevation issue remains for me.

I might have missed it above but I’m assuming some of the add-ons in this thread conflict with the new update from Ms?

EDIT:
In particular:

Taburet Hawaii 10m mesh (is this even needed now)?
Honolulu and surrounding area (freeware) (any conflicts)?
Others that might conflict?

I notice the pattern most when the water is calm. If I increase the wind it will hide most of it unless I get really low to land on a ship. When the water is calm the grid is glaring like in my pictures. It’s the only place in the game I’ve ever seen this.

I noticed the terrain discontinuity flying at a ground speed of under 40 knots in a helicopter while inspecting the USS Missouri, pier and USS Arizona memorial, so I was plenty low and slow. Wind speed was <10 knots as well.

Hi @SHRIMPWALL - Thanks for the further testing. I am looking into this and as per my previous message it is related to the tiling polygon we used to replace the water texture. I’m trying to raise a support ticket with Asobo but currently their developer forum is offline due to a licensing issue.

The terrain/waterfall issue is a WU13 problem that I’ve already raised via Zendesk. It’s not from of our addon.

Thanks for the update.

A new version of Vessels: The Hawaiian Islands has been published by Orbx and is with Microsoft for testing and release to the Marketplace. More here:

Requires the payware H145 (which is subbing for an Airbus EC130), but this will fit what you’re looking for:

I downloaded this new version tonight after work - excellent job with the new elevated guns on USS Missouri. Thank you! Now, if you could just model in the pier and quay alongside, that would be the only thing I’d ask, or find a way to “unmask” the WU13 pier that Asobo included with their Missouri.

Anyway, your responsiveness and quick updates are greatly appreciated!

Thank you, this is exactly what I didn’t want but I appreciate the link. AFAIK Blue-Hawaiian does not operate the H145 and subbing one heli for another is not my definition of realism.

I will use it of course if nothing better arises but I’m surprised because from my quick research in flightradar24 there are MD500s and H125s operating in Hawaii but yet I haven’t found any liveries for those available.

I’m pretty sure I saw a livery for the MD500 over at flightsim.to. I couldn’t find it just now, but I didn’t have a lot of time to search. It would be the “Island Hoppers” livery that they used on the Magnum PI television show, but we actually have a handful of 500s painted up like that in real life!

(Edit) I looked for the CowanSim 500E, and I didn’t see any :frowning:

I take it that the new update which just came out did not address this issue?
