The Debonair as well, in this same way. Great to see this addon will have it as well.
Hopefully the tinting will be modifiable by external mod, this sort of thing is fine in a bright scene but overcast weather tends to over desaturate the scenery and this makes models with tinted glass too muddy to enjoy the view.
Oops. Just saw the news that the game will bundle a PC-6 in the âgame of the yearâ release update next month. But I hope it will be clearly worse than yours, and there will be still customers for you. It has been so exciting and instructional to follow your work here.
it sucks seeing how much realisim and details you put your PC6
Does anyone think that a default PC-6 is gonna stand up to FSG and MilViz??? Itâs a tall order. While I will give the default one a spin, I am pretty sure I will not be flying that particular version.
From a business perspective, it is fairly irrelevant if the small number of âhard core simmersâ will still buy a payware aircraft even if another version of the same aircraft is available for free. And are you personally prepared to pay correspondingly much more for this product, to compensate for sales that might be much lower than expected, thanks to the soon bundled PC-6?
Do you think the âunwashed massesâ that love flying aircraft from the outside (and there are lots of those also on PC, no Xbox shaming here please) care that much which version has the more correct engine modelling, rivets, etc? But yeah, one can hope, it would be very sad if the work we have been following here would have been wasted effort.
I think you went off into the twilight zone reading too much into things. All I said was that those like me who prefer high fidelity aircraft wonât be deterred by the presence of a default PC-6. No more, no less.
ofc not, but sales are still split now between 1 other competitor and 1 that is included for free
gonna hit their sales profit somehow.
Yeah, to a degree. I believe one more PC-6 in addition to this is coming too⊠in reality, all these PC-6s have dropped out of nowhere, so there really isnât anything to do but hope that the merits of this version are enough to make the people want to buy it. What I CAN tell you is that thanks to Alexâs kind invitation, I have been doing a little bit of flying with this aircraft for the last couple of days. I think itâs no secret that I am a huge fan of the MilViz version as thatâs currently my go-to GA aircraft in the sim. Without going into any details which are not mine to share (and considering this is an early version still under very active development), FSG shouldnât have ANY concerns on whether their version flies as good as MilViz because it absolutely does even now. There shouldnât be any disappointments with this aircraft. I think, at the end of the day (and without having seen the Phase 2 MilViz version), this version will offer a bit more in terms of systems fidelity (AS BOTH VERSIONS STAND right NOW, not anything in the future) and simulation. For example, FSG is the only one that currently has circuit breakers for various systems implemented. When itâs all said and done, some of the deciding factor will inevitably be dependent on the visual quality of the aircraft and THAT canât really be judged right now as the FSG version doesnât have the internal visuals completed yet, everything is still very raw at this stage. The MilViz version is done in that department, and I like it very much, but I definitely see room for improvement - an area for FSG to significantly surpass the MilViz version. We all know Asobo doesnât hold back on visuals, so honestly, it will be nice if FSG can compete with THAT. Based on Ju-52 release, I donât think Asobo can come close to MilViz or FSG in terms of systems fidelity - I donât think we can expect functional circuit breakers out of Asobo, so FSG is currently leading in that department.
Some of us will want both, you never know.
I can tell you that FSG flies like a dream and the ground handling is better than MilViz (TO ME)⊠For most of the leisure flying today, I will obviously still use MilViz simply because their interiors are easy on the eyes and FSG is still under very heavy development.
This is all GREAT news for consumers because those who will only purchase one will have the choice of the best product. Those who are content with default PC-6 arenât really the target market anyway - they will fly it as much as other default aircraft (which means only a bit for majority of whatâs present in the hangar)⊠Those who REALLY want a good PC-6 will most likely need to invest into either FSG or MilViz. Either way, the work FSG is doing will NOT go to waste and it promises to very much hold its own against ANY other version. Itâs THAT good in terms of detail and flight.
I just like to reassure FSG: I will definitely be getting this Porter, even though I already have the MilViz one and there is a free one coming.
I was teased for so long with the Aerosoft / Marcel Felde Porter for FSX/P3D that eventually got cancelled back in 2018. I will happily support every developer who creates a fine rendition of this awesome aircraft.
One hope I have for the FSG Porter even if not at launch: Droppable skydivers. Iâve seen evidence of complex, fluid animations for characters being possible. If animated models can be dropped and chutes can be modeled for said models, that would be amazing. It seems right now getting those models to 1) populate the aircraft, 2) have a dive animation 3) depopulate the aircraft as they dive 4) have that affect the aircraftâs weight and finally 5) have the skydivers pop chutes might be flat out impossible with the current SDK. One can dream though.
Well, in theory nothing prevents parts of the aircraft (the skydivers) being animated so that they move away from the aircraft and drop towards the ground. One could even animate them so that their chutes deploy at some suitable height above ground, and the cutes deflate and they stop falling once on ground. But would it be worth it to bend the animation mechanisms, intended for landing gears, elevators, etc to such use cases? Probably not.
It will for sure !! I was tempted to buy it and was holding off because of the twin otter, Iâm not a fan of slow aircraft but Iâm curious to own a PC-6 nonethelessâŠnow itâs sad but Iâm not shy to admit that I will 100% wait for the one from Asobo before paying almost 50$ canadian money for this one. On the other hand, Milviz could pull a Carenado and put theirs on sale for this month and hope to grab some more salesâŠI would probably buy it with a 30% sale because I love their Corsair and would probably love the Porter.
Hi Folks and thank you very much for your positive feedback! We werenât expecting such a huge discussion here on the SU6 release day.
Good news! We successfully updated PC-6 to SU6 and everything works PERFECTLY, just check out these Water Rudders!
All this possibly to do, but this requires time and resources. First, PC-6, than the rest.
How does it cope with more windy weather?
Hi hobanagerik! We adjusted Water Rudders to the PC-6 Flight model. Now even at Vr airplane is controllable with extended Water Rudders!
I think Iâll swerve the proposed default PC6. FSG have really impressed me with their transparent development process compared to the other PC6s.
Just imagine PC-6 flight competition!!!
