From now they are, as well as other test pilots, have full freedom to discuss here ANY issues regarding FSG PC-6 project. They have our permission to put ANY images or their test video to show current FSG PC-6 state.
Folks, we have ONLY ONE RESTRICTION - Please do not make comparison with the other PC-6. Thank you!
Thank you Jeremy! We created 118 volumetric lights with potentiometer to make TRUE instrument lightning. We don’t have any “night” textures. All lights sources inside cockpit are 3d Volumetric.
P.S.Volumetric lights don’t affect FPS!
This really deserves to be underscored and called out. I think many (most? all?) of us in the flightsim community have a tendency to confuse “difficult” with “authentic.” In real life that’s not necessarily the case. I’m thinking, for example, of the B-17 - designed to handle easily, like an enormous, four-engine Piper Cub, so it could be flown by the 18-year-old, 200-hour pilots who were assigned to it.
I’m not qualified to say whether the FSG Porter, or any other Porter, is authentic. Just making a general observation about reactions, mine included, that aren’t always on target.
May I have one too ?
I’ll be the tester for the reliabiliy of sliding door. And more I can do this equiped with my complete skydiving gear for a total immersion !
Pleeaaaase…
The worst was with first series of B2H4 : if opened too violently, at end of course casters could went out of the rails…
Was fun to try to get the door back in place at 12.500ft AGL with a friend trying to keep you on the footstool because you needed both hands to do the job.
And when you falled down, in the plane others skydivers could hear the pilot saying “Next one please…”
What to say… absolutely stunning! Flight preparations now.
First impressions after 1 flight: This looks really good visually. It is in a very good state already imho! My main feeling when sitting in the cockpit: This aircraft comes straight from the factory. It is so pure and clean. Of course, opinions differ if you like it like that, but at least it gives this feeling very convincingly to me now. Not sure if some wear it going to be added in the textures (I cant remember all of the nearly 1000 messages in this thread )
Regarding flight model: So far it handles very easily, with the AP working as expected. Some minor bugs I will report to the developers, but that is to be expected as it is WIP and not a finished product yet.
More to follow after some further flights this weekend.
So I did some more flights this weekend. My conclusion so far: convinced this is going to be a very well modeled aircraft. The current quality of the 3d models is already very high, while they are still working it.
There is still quite some work to do, but the enthusiasm of FSG for this project is great, and - based on answers to some questions I asked - they are really dedicated to making this as real as possible, using handbooks and pilot feedback where possible.
