Announcement: FSLiveTraffic Liveries (FSLTL)

Instead of new areas and world updates, I’d rather have first a better Offline AI traffic, better AI ATC and all what you guys are proposing.

Who doesn’t mind online vatsim-like experience seems to be forgotten.

Offline ai traffic, or even live traffic, and in game ATC managing its own traffic should be a priority way before new airplanes and new scenery.

I don’t get Asobo, stop making new “handcrafted” airports and correct lighting on aprons on handcrafted airports. Correct AI traffic. I just don’t get their priorities.

Yeah, I fly online about once a year. I would rather have a sky full of AI aircraft than a bunch of kids getting in my way. Although, usually the skies are empty when I normally fly, in the mornings. Rarely any ATC on VATSIM early.

Looks like all the links to posts that can be voted are down. Is there any issue raised for improved access to the traffic system?

AIG just made an announcement today, they are working on it and made some good progress already.

Hi, I recently bought MSFS and thought that it would be awesome if the Live traffic would use real liveries to go along their real callsigns…

So I tried to find if something existed already, and quickly found this topic. All I can say is that it makes me really happy to know this project is ongoing, and I really wanted to say thank you to all the people involved in its development. I sadly don’t have the required skills to help in any way, but for what it’s worth, be assured that you have my full support and admiration :slight_smile:

I found this Offline Traffic pack, still haven’t tested it though:

Live traffic is nice but it does not generate a believable amount of GA traffic, especially around uncontrolled or small GA airports/airfields, I’ve noticed that using AI Offline Traffic improves it a bit

i tried it but all the airplanes are invisible ! i have no other traffic addon apart from this one !

I’ve been testing a bit that AI Traffic package and it does indeed place airliners in various airports.
There is an FPS hit of about 5fps in KATL.
All airplanes are generic models, namely the generic twin engines and four engines and the liveries are very approximate, they get the job done though and are way better than the generic ones.
What I could not test is if there are any AI flying around and interacting with ATC.

However, I still think that I’ll remove it and wait for any progress from other more reliable sources, that package appears to not be maintained or well tested and I really want to avoid any possible source of CTDs for the sake of having some liners parked.

I also tried to create a custom AI using this:

I created a C152 going back and forth between KORS and KFHR, compiled the BGL and added to my community folder but it never appears and I won’t be investigating any further, it seems that creating custom AI traffic for MSFS requires more than compiling a simple BGL.

I also tried to make a FP using AIFP with a route coming and going from LEMD to LEBL.
I tried with various airplanes both AI FSX native and Asobo aircraft.
The result was that the plane spawned was always an “Asobo generic single engine propeller” instead of t he one I’d chosen. I never could manage to spawn the aircraft I wanted.
Before the last update I used to make flightplans and they worked… maybe the update broke something.

So, there is not any excellent traffic addon for FS2020 like X-Plane 11 has?.

I’ve just started a flight from KMCO and this is what I’ve found:
One Asobo generic twin airliner and one A320 that on the line where the airline shoud appear, instead it reads “OnPerformanceAudit” ???
From the last update sometimes there are strange symbols on this line…

why Asobo/MS does not give a chance to third party vendors like AIGM to collaborate and develop in terms of AI traffic ??
This developer can do it and has proven it several times on other simulators, see also here:

AIG was contacted by Asobo. We don’t know what, if anything, came out of that. We need to wait for some form of official statement from either.

The big topic about AI is licensing and royalties for liveries and company names use. I recall hearing this from an Asobo dev in a video. He mentioned that some companies won’t give permission no matter the license or royalties.
Implementation is probably the smallest part of the whole ingame AI.
Probably the community will be left on own for the AI.

Which begs the question why AIG was contacted and FSLTL wasn’t. At least for me as an outsider.

  1. Because AIG asked for this, via a highly voted topic in the Q&A.

  2. (Possibly because AIG has years of experience in the field and FSLTL doesn’t?)

AIG tried for a long time too before the Q&A finally ‘forced’ the devs to get in touch.
