Requesting (hoping for) a vietnam-era paint scheme on the “LN” machines flown out of RAF Lakenheath in the 1980’s. Used to watch them on final approach from my office when I worked for a year at Brandon, Suffolk.

I was always fascinated by their “swing wings”. I lived near RAF Upper Heyford from ‘74 to ‘79 and never tired of seeing them.
Wow!! this is awesome news. Really loved this one in FSX. Especially the animated pilots.
I hope that this means you will replace the Asobo default pilots with your own custom made pilots? Please, please!! We need some great pilot models from back in those days (HGU 55 helmets with MBU-12 masks)

TFR: unfortunately, standard MSFS tools do not allow us to implement this autopilot mode directly, but we are now looking for a way to implement it.

Now we releasing 13 different liveries, so we can’t cover all squads, but they will be expanded in updates. (LN RAF Lakenheath in priority 1)

Holy smoke. I worked these planes as an avionics mechanic in RAF Upper Heyford and Mt. Home for eight years! When will it be available, money is not an object. Much appreciated!!

Hopefully we get some Vietnam War era paints as well. I guess it’s time to dust off a podcast I listened to a while back of an interview with a pilot who flew these in Vietnam.

It’s a very nice rendition. This Aircraft was a much regretted purchase by the RAAF.
Just a thought,…You may very well have found yourself working on the TSR 2 instead of this airborne species of ‘Tubulidentata’.

The TSR2 program was definitely killed off by the F-111. Still, if the TSR2 had entered service, I guess the Tornado would not have been developed.

The British didn’t regret purchasing the F-111K, because they never purchased them. The order for 50 (as I understand it) was cancelled in 1967 (under politically controversial criticism). The British, aviation historians, and generations that followed most likely do regret that the TSR 2 program was abruptly cancelled and it was never developed to operational employment. It remains a “what if” and “Should have been”.
American pilots and all US soldiers/sailors that were forsaken for Political power and corporate profit did not have the luxury of choice. The F-111 was available and “operational” at the time. It fulfilled a needed role under duress. Aviators paid in blood for choices made outside of their control. For their bravery, fortitude, and heroic actions that were ignored by the Country they served, I will consider it an honor and privilege to remember and explore the F-111 though this addon.
SIDE NOTE: I too have been praying for an update to the MiG-21bis for a LONG time as well.
