Any DA42 in the works?

Hello, I am a tester for the aircraft and it’s progressing along nicely. I recommend joining the discord to get the most up-to-date news. But usually, when a dev team has their heads down in silence it’s because they’re working hard. Stay tuned for more updates!

Ohhh man that’s awesome!!

Talk to some of the other devs with regard to Marketplace… It’s apparently a staggeringly high percentage of the sales $ for add-on planes.

And the money you’d make if this is available on Xbox will pay for the cost of an Xbox Series S to test on many times over.

Hi @MrTommymxr

This is looking amazing. Just some feedback though. Due the engines and gearboxes the prop when feathered would not move as freely as it does there. Whilst flying if the engine is shut off, the blades will stop quite quickly. I wouldn’t expect any windmilling whilst feathered. Maybe some slight movement back and forth as there is a small amount of play in the gears.

Also when unfeathered if not at the right airspeed (above 110 from memory) the engine will not start, but instead have about 15% load and shake the aircraft.

I would buy this just for the visibility. I like the DA62, except for the horrendous pillars blocking my view.
Look at the difference:

Yep that’s why I’m most excited for the 42… the 62 is great but the visibility is just no bueno. I’m sure in real life it’s not a huge deal but in the sim it detracts from the experience.

A few of our testes sent us footage of the DA42TDI when feather and they said its jumps between cylinders at around 120 knots ish.
I have tweaked it and its less smooth now.

what do you mean by that 2nd part.
the engine will spin and show 15% load + the fuel flow and not run?
shouldn’t the ECU show errors?

so when restarting in the air the engine will run rough for a few seconds?

what altitude and temperature? how long was the engine off?

also, tdi or NG?

Using VR that drove me crazy because I felt double goggled in the DA62.

Some quick video clips floating around on discord from time to time. Tommymxr is doing some awesome work on it. Can’t wait!

Me too - I am looking for realistic DA42, Having flown that thing in real life (Brings back memories of my instrument rating training). Would love to recreate some of my training flights.

Updates and stuff are constantly posted on the Discord

Oh Man! That is Sweet!

I’d like to say (shout!) “DAY 1” but I’m learning that I need to know how well a developer codes a plane for use in PC cockpits with SPAD. Some do, even going so far as to provide vars that are specific to the aircraft. Some don’t care, leaving hidden vars all over the place. Some at least provide a complete list of vars, and the controls they bind to in their documentation. If I get frustrated trying to set up my controls in SPAD, I abandon the plane and write off the purchase as an unfortunate mistake, regardless of how good it looks, or how well it flies.

Are all the variables easily discovered? Do all the controls easily bind to peripherals like the HC Alpha/Bravo and Streamdecks?

That functionality is becoming increasing important to me as I seek to eliminate the mouse/keyboard from my cockpit. I personally put that way ahead of texture perfection, and just ahead of flight model accuracy.

The plane in the teaser looks amazing, and if it meets my needs I will certainly buy it.

Yeah its all there
