I have been using the free version of Fraps and it seems to work very well. The full version allows a lot more benefits and while the cost is quite reasonable, before I download it, would like to know if anyone have had problems with it. Many many thanks all.

I remember lot users report issues ( also crash ) with these very old tool.

What are you trying to accomplish? If it’s just video recording, the XBox Game Bar does that, and it’s probably already installed on your PC. If you have and Nvidia card, make sure you have GeForce Experience installed - it does screenshots, video, and has a very non-intrusive frame count overlay too. And used together, it takes screenshots and video without including that overlay.

I bought a lifetime license of fraps about 20 years ago.
the tool is heavy on performance, much better to use your GPU driver programs for recording and such.
its a very old and obsolete application.

If you’re just looking to check your FPS’s then the shift + z app over at flightsim.to is a much better option.

I’m an old timer so I still install fraps almost as a subconscious reflex thing when I periodically reinstall the OS but I don’t reach for it as much these days.
It has some issues with steam overlay. (It simply won’t work with steam overlay active)
I’m very GPU limited but with a pretty powerful CPU (3800X) and for me MSI Afterburner is ideal. I can record 30fps, 1080p @ 100% quality with no impact on frame rates whatsoever.
If you have Geforce, you can press Alt+Z
You can also press Winkey+G
Both should be better than Fraps.
