Hello from Southern Indiana. I am totally new to the flight simulator community not knowing a thing about flying. I am using a custom made PC with the next level racing cockpit. Thought I would be a fan of race car driving but absolutely fell in love with MSFS and flying. Love it so much that I took all my car equipment down and converting everything over to flying. Teaching myself on the Cessna 152 and 172 (with the G1000) and learning how to make flight plans, read airport diagrams, etc. I don’t have the money (and a little too old) to go for a private license so for me, this is the next best thing. The nerd in me is loving it.

Hello, from another newcomer! You’re really going to enjoy flight simming. MSFS has shortcomings aplenty, but there’s nothing like flying over the real world to bring back fond memories of people and places long since past.

There’s plenty of people here willing to help, me included. I’m not savvy on fixing technical computer issues, but if you have any flying questions feel free to drop me a line. Good luck with your flying adventures!

Hi all, I’m glad I finally found a place to introduce myself, must have escaped my eyes till now
So here goes: my Name is Frank, I’m from Germany, born 1956.
I’m not completely new to simming, the virus caught me with MSFS3 in the early 90’s.
Every version since then up to FS9 (2004).Then a long pause followed during which I now and then glanced at the new FS2020. A few months back I found out that FS was usable on XBox and that triggered some more interest and curiosity. I watched some Videos and was blown away by the level of landscape detail and the fluid running of FS. I was hooked again the biggest leap forward for me being that you can really fly vfr now by looking out of the cockpit window.

I instantaneously bought an XBox Series X, a 42"TV and Honeycomb Alfa XPC and Bravo.
My children gave me a NextLevelRacing simpit as a birthday present and now I’m in simmer’s heaven I suppose

I fly the beautiful V-tail-Bonanza almost every day now, and recently also purchased the Mooney Ovation which I’m still busy taming at the moment.

What can you want more…

Best regards, Frank

Hi I’m Brian.

Started using flight sims 35 years ago to help me learn to glide. Despite it being very basic Microsoft’s first one did the job and I went solo after only 21 flights. I was then hooked and have been ever since. I’m now flying real helicopters, and their equivalents on sims.

I’ve been using P3D and Orbx for 3 years, it was working very well for the Cabri G2 helicopter. When MSFS became ā€œmature and trustworthyā€ I decided a few weeks ago to give it a try on my current (good) PC. I’ve now been using MSFS and its Cabri G2 for some weeks and I’m delighted with what Microsoft has provided. The PC has an i7 and GTX 2080Ti so it’s not quite good enough to get the best from MSFS but I’m working on that!

So I’m new to the new sim and to this forum.

I’ll welcome any help I can find here.

Hello my names Tim W. Call me , Tim. Lol. But I got into this one because of my career I just retired from , and military back ground . Like being a smokejumper I was always leaving the plane. But I always had this , fire , in me to just try it, and educate myself on the avionics side, lolo, understand why our pilots were always so , jolly ,..lolol. I only hope that more people consider this , NOT A GAME , because this is the most realistic sim this 52 yr old has ever attempted . Plus I AM DYING TO GET MY HANDS ON THE NEW VERSION with the WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING !!! MSFS just grabs ya to , keep digging for that perfection.. SO I SAY… THANK YOU TO ALL THAT ARE, WERE AND GOING TO BE A PART IN MY DREAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS . THANK YOU!!!

Hi Everybody,

I’m known on discord and youtube as SwannSim. I’ve been using a flight simulator since the days of Bruce Artwick back in 1985. I ran my own BBS back in the day dedicated to flight simulation, this is before the internet.

My flight deck has grown over the years into a full blown Boeing 737-800 airliner, here is a picture of my baby. If you’d like to see more you can find my videos on youtube… Just do a search for SwannSim, you’ll find me.

Thanks for having me aboard!
