For the life of me why would you take a step backwards with the UI?
Often, the ATC window will have a significant number of available choices. These choices in 2020 are all visible along with their associated choice number.
With this new UI you can only see four choices and must use an awkward scroll bar to scroll down the list. I have tried to use the edges to drag the window size downward vertically, but I have been unable to get a window size cursor to appear. I have only been able to get the horizontal resize cursor to show when I place the mouse pretty far to the left or the right of the left or right window edges, but making the window wider isnât the issue.
This makes absolutely no sense. Who was put in charge of this, the intern?
After the servers have cooled off, this is my biggest issue with FS2024 right now. But Iâm sure Iâll discover something worse in the next few days lol
I should add that the key I use to open the ATC window wonât close it??? I have to manually click it with the mouse. Annoying and awkward.
Agree @NixonRedgrave . I was just thinking the same tonight. Also, the most recent dialog I get from atc is often hidden too, so I have to use the upper scroll bar to scroll down to see it. But that isnât sticky so next atc command come in and I need more scrolling down to see it again.
Window should be scalable, but isnât as far as I can tell. I also used the toggle ATC (assigned to a hotas button) in fs2020, and can concur that there is only an option to open ATC dialog window in FS2024 but not close it again, which is a bit annoying.
I also noticed you can assign a key or button to open the ATC windows but you can only close it using the mouse. So it is not a toggle. Unhandy as I try to avoid using keyboard and/or mouse.
In addition to fixing this pretty huge issue, I would like to add a request for an input field that could be used to filter the airports in range by their call letters. Meaning you can choose to see only what is relevant to you for your flight.
I re-activate this thread as it"s getting very frustrated updates after updates.
The proposed list of choice is not resizeable. When itâs the closest airfielditâs even worst as the list is dynamic and you may click on wrong choice.
For the closest airfield list choice, the list is full of helicopter pad when flying in urban area. You spend seconds clickling on farther / closer airfield searching miserably in the list for your airport. Would love to have a filter feature. Searchable could also be a nice-to-have: Searchable "Nearest Airports" List In ATC Window
The window doesnât support to get move to a second monitor without being totally unreadable (wrong font size, no buttonâŠ) and you have to fine tune it again and again. Putting a second window and make it active (interact with it) creates a 5 to 10 ftps loss.
Sometimes you loose shortcut. Pressing 1, 2, 3⊠works then few minutes later you have to interact with the mouse. And it could get back to normal later.
My biggest wish is for the ATC window to be able to be moved to a secondary monitor.
But yeah, all the things mentioned are also a big regression from FS2020.
Agree, for me itâs the single most annoying aspect of 2024 and thatâs saying something.
The sizing is linked to the overall UI sizing options which donât allow you to go below 18 I think, this was the same in 2020 until it was resolved in an update.
The ability to filter out helipads if youâre flying a plank wing and vice versa is important.
Also there need to be more selectable lines in the dialogue box.
There has been zero changes in this regard (UI), but also some new issues (AI assistance entering infinite loops for example, among others) regarding ATC
