I have the AT Sim Cri-Cri. I beta tested for it, and it was in not the best shape upon release. However, a recent patch made it much more stable and fixed a lot of avionics bugs. So, I have trust that they will patch this too.
Will this plane be available on the marketplace?Have some problems paying for it on 3rd patry webâŠ
I wouldnât worry about 3rd party⊠I paid, then even got refunded. With no issues. They are pretty straight up!
Just flew a 2 hr flight (oof⊠thatâs a lot of hand-flying with no AP!)⊠Can anyone explain to me how the navigation works? I planned an IFR route and the center line originally was pointed in what seems to be the correct direction, but then just kept it without changing at different waypoints. How are you supposed to follow an IFR plan if you donât use VFR map to cheat? Sorry for a newb question, I am used to glass cockpits.
I know on Aermacchi MMB if I put it in RNAV mode, the flight director will automatically shift the line at waypoints, but this one doesnât seem to do that. Is that because it doesnât have a GPS like MB-339?
You can only navigate by using VORs and NDBs with the Piggy.
No RNAV or waypoints. Just basic ârealâ navigation.
Noticed an error in the manual. Thereâs no HSI (which would make things a lot easier) only a CDI for VOR navigation.
Thank you so much.. So basically I have to tune the VORs into the NAV radio and thatâs what my CDI line will guide me to? Quick thing⊠Once I reach that VOR, how will I know? I am gonna try to navigate without the VFR map.
Thereâs a TO / FROM indication and an OFF flag.
Overhead the VOR (cone of silence) you will get the OFF flag for a short time before to TO indication switches to the FROM indication.
With the OBS (omni bearing selector) you dial in the VOR radial you want to track.
NDB doesnât work for me, as the needle keeps just spinning aroundâŠ
So with only the VOR, you have several portions.
Easiest, use your eyes and follow landmarks (specific terrain features, train tracks, roads, highways).
If you have a second monitor, you can also use tools like littlenavmap, Google earth with open source airspace set, or (best) paper charts (plotter also needed). Note time when passing a defined âwaypointâ (a city, for example). Fly course to your next planned waypoint. From the measured distance and your indicated speed corrected for the altitude and anticipated wind you know the time you should need, so getting closer to this ETA look out for the waypoint on the ground. Note time when you reach it.. The distance flown devided by the time you needed now gives you your actual Groundspeed. You can also estimate the wind correction angle this way.
Regarding the VOR, you would select a certain radial and fly it. Choose the inbound course when flying towards it, or the outbound course when flying away (TO/FROM flag should show appropriately). When passing the VOR inbound, the flag will change from TO to FROM, indicating you just went over the station. From there you can either fly the outbound radial, or tune in the next VOR.
Here your can also work with your stopwatch, or combine it with the pure visual navigation, as a containment line for example. Say you next waypoint is a certain city. A specific VOR radial goes through it (VOR should be to the left or right off your course, so that you would cross the radial at a 90° angle at the waypoint, ideally). Dial that radial in. When your calculation says you should be there, but you cannot identify your landmark, maybe you went off course. But you know the radial you tuned in goes through the landmark. So when the needle centers, you know you should be there. Still canât see it? Fly a bit inbound out outbound on the radial. You know you will find your landmark this way. Also works with highways perpendicular to your track.
Hi guys, i have a question: Does this have a DME? I want to do vor to vor at night, maybe with clouds and stuff so i need to know how far im from the station
Iâve notice other two possible issues.
- If and when Iâm able to tune the Comm radios, I canât hear any sounds from ATC; the only thing I can hear is my voice. ATC is speaking as I can read the subtitles, but thereâs no voice coming through.
EDIT: You need to turn up the volume of the radios (center knob), itâs at 0 when you first switch the radios on. - The gyro cannot be synched with the compass using the âDâ shortcut, you need to synch it manually.
No DME that I can see, and itâs not in the manual so Iâm guessing unfortunately no.
There was an update today that fixed radios and a few other things!
So⊠the new update does fix the radios starting from cold and dark. But they still donât auto-tune through the ATC dialogue box. ![]()
And DME only works with VOR-DME VORâs, which not all are. None of the planes Iâve ever flown has ever had a DME.
Typically, youâd use radials from two VORâs, or in this case, since thereâs only one Nav radio, hopefully youâve got an ADF nearby you can tune into. Find the direction to it, and you can plot your location on a map. And then calculate the time itâll take to get to your next waypoint.
(IOW, set a direction that would cross your path ahead of you and calculate the time to waypoint from there at the speed you are going, taking windspeed into account. Then when the ADF aligns, start your timer)
Howâd you find the update? I donât see any mention of where to download it on the website and I havenât received any notification that thereâs an update in email?
Whatâs the rev? I downloaded 2.0 (and I have the radio problems)
Iâd like to know how you get the update as well. No email with new link here either. Thanks.
Itâs on their FB page. They just tell you to use the same download link from the original purchase e-mail. The rev is still 2.0
The only reason I found out about it is because their post was on my FB feed.
I wish they e-mailed everyone with new updated links and revisions. I hate hunting original purchase e-mails in my archive folders. I delete these things as soon as I download and save the Serial Number in a text file in the folder with the original package.
Does the mouse cursor work fine in VR in this plane?
I have flown it a couple of times in VR and didnât have any issues with the mouse. Seems to work as per all other aircraft.
