Auto rudder after landing?!

I concur, my rudder/steering had a mind of its own after the last update but unplugging my Thrustmaster T16000M then restarting MSFS and going to the Controls option page and then plugging joystick back in and accepting the default values I found that I now had complete Rudder authority!

This issue is already discussed in a few threats. Following procedure (Rudder issue after recent update - #29 by SpiralQuill3271) worked for me.

Change the assist options to medium, save and restart the game will do the trick.

I will have to give that a shot since I never tried on medium. I’m also gonna try an uninstall and reinstall just for kicks to see. I’ve looked at other threads but a lot seems to be with joystick and other additions and mods. I’m default with just Xbox controller and no non MSFS aircraft and default settings. Basically doing it straight out of the box.

I’m flying with Xbox and Controller too. After set and save to medium you can change the assist options as you wish. It seems that Software Update 7 resetted the assist options to easy and activated a still existing bug. The same problem cccured to me two month ago but stopped after a few flights.I don*t no why though.

So give it a try. A new installation is not necessary.

I tried doing medium and it did the same thing. I didn’t even have a flight plan or request taxi to parking and it still took over rudder controls once it touched down. I’m trying a re install since that’s the last thing I can think of.

Have you tried on True to Life, and make sure all the assistance sub-sections are all Hard? And make sure the in-flight assistance menu from the toolbar are also off on everything.

And if you’re on Xbox controller, try to play around with the Controls binding especially on the rudder. You need to find one that can hold the rudder when you hold the button and recenter when you release.

Hi guys I l happy to find some one have the same errors I can’t get my plane at this stationary or when go right he go left any reasons thanks

Yes, I have tried on True to Life. I’ve messed with all the assistance for flight controls but now fix. I haven’t messed with the actual controller settings so everything should still be in default. I will look into that but I would think that if the rudder is working on taxi to and on the runway as well as flying it would work the same on the ground after landing.

It has nothing to do with assists. I have everything off. The rudder on the 787 jiggles like crazy after landing, but only after SU7. It doesn’t behave like any assist would at all. It’s a bug.

Is that an aircraft specific bug then? Because not once have I ever had any rudder jiggle bug on the A320neo or the A330neo since launch until today. Either I set up my configuration properly which is different from most people who are having the issue, or if it’s an aircraft specific bug. Because if it is a global bug, then “everyone” would get the same rudder issue.

I doesn’t seem to be a specific bug. So far I have had it on the 320NEO, 787, Icon A5, and the 208. I haven’t flown anything else except for the 152 but that was in flight training. I tried a zen desk ticket but they came back saying to check the forums which didn’t help me much. It’s so weird that it does it since I haven’t downloaded any planes or modded or what not. Everything is what came with the game and normal controller.

Maybe it’s a specific Xbox controller issue or their bindings then? I use a joystick with twist function for my rudder. I have hundreds of hours of full flight on my YT channel. I always have full control over my rudder at any time.

If it is a bug, then it must be a very specific bug under a specific condition or configuration.

For me at least it’s aircraft specific. Only occurs on the Dreamliner, all others behave just fine on PC. I regularly fly the A320Neo, 747, 787, Cessna 152, 172 and Grand Caravan, Beechcraft King Air 350i and the F18. Only the 787 rudder is broken, and only after landing. If I get around to it, I’ll try to make a video. You can literally see the pedals rapidly jittering and the plane pulls to the left or right randomly. I have to rapidly twist the joystick in the direction I want to go again and again because it recenters quickly and then veers off the runway again.
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and game is Premium Deluxe Edition without anything else installed. And I’ve only had the problem on the 787 after SU7, before it was behaving fine.

Ok… just did a short flight from KSAN to KLAX with the 787 in order to record a video of the landing. Of course no rudder issue this time

So something I must have done different. Up to now the problem appeared after every single post-SU7 Dreamliner landing. Oh well.

Will post if I can reproduce it again.

I am having this issue almost constantly on approach and touchdown. No assistance options enabled. It’s a big in the software. No fix I’ve seen yet has worked. It makes the sim unplayable.

Currently having this issue. Just got FS on my new Series S. I simply can’t use the sim if I have no control upon landing. I end up in the grass every time and can’t use it to move anywhere. Hopefully this is fixed soon. I’d love to be able to land and go ahead in one session

I just flew a CJ4 flight yesterday and it did it upon landing. This time I was using the Hotas One set up minus the pedals. It definitely not a controller issue because I haven’t messed with anything on the controller. Like I said, it is doing it straight out of the box essentially. I have uninstalled and re installed the game and try every combination of assists on or off and all assists off. Nothing with the controller or joystick has been changed minus some buttons but it does not pertain to the rudder at all.

This keeps on happening to me randomly as well with all aircraft. When taxiing to parking, with the flaps down and speed under 15 knots, the aircraft’s steering goes haywire, and no matter what I do, I cannot control it. It is so annoying and costs me an otherwise perfect flight.

Any suggestions? Auto AI has been turned off since the very first flight.

I have this problem with my Logitech rudder pedals. This issue has only just started for me in the last couple of weeks. I cannot control the plane on the ground. Despite where my pedals are held, I can see the vertical tailplane auto-center when in external view.

I’ve tried unplugging them/plugging them back in, re-calibrating them in Windows/Controllers, setting game options to adjust sensitivity and deadzone, setting game options back to default (which is how I used them for 10 months without a problem), uninstalling my PC’s USB hubs via Device Manager. None of these things work.

I’ve noticed, too, in the last couple of weeks, that when I start the sim, all of my assist options are turned ‘ON,’ and I am constantly turning them off again. This never happened before, but now it happens every time I start the sim! I’m beginning to wonder if the answer lies there… that the assist options (auto-rudder etc) are not really turned off, even though I set the slider to ‘OFF’ and ‘APPLY AND SAVE.’ I don’t think it’s saving those settings.

Is there a config file anywhere that I can edit to make sure these settings stay ‘OFF’?

I hope someone from the developers is reading and acting upon all those issues. It would give some solace to know someone is listening.

Otherwise, we all are talking to a mourning wall.
