You get all three. The tundra tires one has only one livery. I think it will be fixed in next updates though.
Thanks for your speedy reply. I looked the plane up on google. I is in my price range so tomorrow I think I will try and get it. I am mostly a Beechcraft person but learned in an Aronca 7AC so I do really like flying a tail drager and I did a lot in a Piper Cub on floats of a friends. I got my water wings in a Cessna 172 and 180 on floats. Again many thanks!
Husky is good for the price. Grab it.
Also if you are on PC and want something a bit different in tail draggers consider the c140 from Aeroplane Heaven. It is sort of an Art Deco 40’s Diner with a tail wheel.
The addon still has a few minor issues to be sorted including engine sound being a touch intrusive but flies really well, has a lot of character and is great fun.
Absolutely a good purchase. Very nice plane for bush flying with great visibility and nice avionics. The limited amount of paint schemes for non-standard models is a bit disappointing but one can hope that this will be updated. Still one of the best buys and quite a bargain.
I want either C140 or C170 and want only one of them. Which one would you recommend?
Learned to make wheel landings in the Cessna 120 a 140 without flaps. Until i got to the 140 and later the 140A I barley mastered wheel landing with the Cessna’s spring gear. Never an issue in planes with bungy style landing gear. You are right, they are a very fun plane to fly, but then every plane is fun to fly.
If you are thinking 170 look for a 180 or 185 or 195 for much better performance. I can hardly wait for some one to bring us the Stagerwing Beech, now theres some fun and tons fo power.
They are different aircraft - think c152 versus c172. The c140 is gloriously slow and sedate but does it with style…
Note that I only own the c140 at present though likely will get both eventually ( I am running a 30’s/40’s Neofly career) . I went c140 first because it sounded like it had the better flight model.
- the c170 is Carenado and hence Marketplace only, the c140 is Orbx, JF Store or direct only.
- Flight Model - The c140 is better, it is very well behaved for an MSFS taildragger, whereas the c170 seems to have complaints particularly about bounce and skittish ground roll
- Sounds - the c170 seems better, engine sound too loud on c140 though you can just turn the engine slider down in game
- Visually - c170 is Carenado so will be excellent, but all in all the c140 seems pretty good to me as well
- Other issues (electrical etc) they seem to both have minor glitches - no clear winner
- “character” people seem to prefer the c140
Exactly, I know about the strengths and weaknesses of both, was just asking about which one people like more personally. Although there are clear differences between both in real life, I am looking for an older Cessna taildragger that flies between 90-120 knots and carried between 2 and 4 people, so both qualify perfectly. Based on my very general factors, both are in pretty much the same category Like 152 and 172.
Well so far I really like the c140 – the c140, P149 and the JF Warrior II are my three favourite GA planes so far out of maybe a dozen I own. They all just “feel right”.
I think both the 140 and the 170 have issues with electrics and autopilot btw.
Personally though I love the c140 - another video, a bit of NZ bush flying this time (bouncy landing but that is more me and the fact that Quinton is not actually an airstrip in MSFS just looks like one) :
I bought this at release. Flew it 2 times and never touched it again
It might appeal to you but the panel is so cartoonish.
So I would advice against buying it, but that is a personal opinion.
if you mean the c140 the styling is very much a matter of personal taste but it does look like a real c140.
Which is why I have made a few videos with no commentary so people can see exactly what they will be getting and form their own opinion.
If you watch any of the videos you will know instantly if you like the look of the cockpit or would find it annoying. No surprises.
The husky is just anazing, go for it!
The sim is not, but maybe they will get there soon again:+1:
It’s better than any other flight sim out there. They are all bad, MSFS is just the least bad and by far the visually most advanced.
X-Plane has its issues too and DCS is a specialized combat flight sim that is hardly comparable. I’m happy where MSFS is heading. There is quite a bit wrong but it’s a long journey ahead of what we already have I and thing will get better.
Well I bought the Aviat Husky as recomended. I have been flying the Sea Plane version so far and having a good time doing it. I have only a couple of small complaints thus far. The biggest is the male and female voices tellng me every couple of seconds the condition of the landing gear. I wish there was a way to silance them both. The only other issue is that I thought a 200Hp two place plane would jump off the ground and cruse faster than 80 knots at 25/25. I will try the conventional gear model and see if there is any difference. In any other plane on flotes there is very little difference from fixed gear to floats.
There is a setting in MSFS to turn off warnings somewhere, maybe under assistance? Cannot remember.
look for a 180 or 185 or 195 for much better performance.
None of those exist for the sim, sadly… at least not yet. Or are we talking about buying a plane in real life?
To silence them click the red button on the landing gear indicator. It is a safety aspect that real planes have, you have to acknowledge it by clicking the red flashing button. Same in c172 and many other aircraft with floats.
Regarding your coment on the other sim out there: I have thousand of hours in both the Baron and the Bonanza. In the earlier Barons they had a sink rate issue but that is not the case in this latest version. I took me awhile to figure everything out but once I did they are both very representive of the real thing. Admittedly I am very new to simming but with over 10,000 flight hours I do know the real feel of most airplanes.
