Does anyone know if Aviatek has stopped trading/gone bust? Paid for a system Dec 24 still not recieved anything. They do not respond to emails/phone or Facebook messages.
Oof, that would suck. None of their stuff is cheap. Hope it works out for you.
If you paid by credit card, then I would contact your card company to issue a chargeback.
Yes I’m not the happy est of bunnies. If they would just tell me that would help.
I’m about to do that but thanks anyway. I really wanted that kit though!
Following this with very keen interest - I am looking to update my sim setup and I’ve been searching for a European-made G1000 replica and a motion platform over the past few days.
Looking for the PFD & MFD, the Aviatek website was one of the first that came up, and I really like the look of them and how they are built & connect. I emailed the company this morning to ask about lead time and shipping costs to the UK, and they answered quickly. I got a very helpful and detailed response.
I just checked into the MSFS forum in my lunch break, only to see this topic from yesterday afternoon. I don’t know if this is helpful for you or worrying for me, but there is definitely someone there who is responding to emails.
Could you post any updates, as and when anything happens? These guys are currently my no. 1 preferred option, but obviously I don’t want to pay anything out if there’s a risk I might not get the kit, or if support is potentially likely to end.
Personal Comments and Observations
I have no horse in this race, I’m not even in Europe. But I am curious to know how Virtual-Fly would stack up against Aviatek, and coincidentally (maybe not?) they’re both based in Spain…
I wanted the kit too. As an update I did finally get a reply and and an appology. I was told there were some company and personal problems and my order should be sent next week. Today the week is up and still not heard any more. (28 March) I obviously have my own suspicions as to whats happening but hope I’m wrong.
I will update if I have any further news.
See below.
Just remember you may only have a month left before you’re out of the chargeback window - 120 days.
That is concerning. It could still all be above board, and being sent out this week might just mean it’s couriered today or tomorrow…but I assume you would have been notified if that was the case?
I hope for you that it does turn up, would look forward very much to hearing your thoughts if it does.
I’m an Aviatek customer and have known these people for quite a while and have a very good relationship with them. They are good people, and as far as I’ve seen, their quality is top notch. But, they are a very small company, and when I ordered from them during the pandemic global supply chain crisis, they had difficulty fulfilling my order. It did come, though, and the product was brilliant.
They’re actually both near Barcelona, but different parts of town. But it’s a coincidence.
I own products from both companies, and I have a great relationship with both companies, so I won’t endorse one or the other (except for the G1000; I’ve owned both, and Aviatek’s is better). But here’s my compare-and-contrast between the two companies:
Virtual-Fly | Aviatek | |
---|---|---|
Company size | Both companies are small, however Virtual-Fly is considerably larger | Aviatek is a very small company |
Avionics | Makes avionics | Makes avionics |
Controls | Makes high-quality non-control loaded yokes and pedals with hall effect sensors | Does not make controls (their training devices contain controls from Brunner and Virpil) |
Switch panels | Makes switch panels | Does not make switch panels |
Flight simulators | Makes fully-enclosed simulators for a wide range of aircraft | Makes two, a Citation Mustang and a DA42. They’re not fully enclosed. |
Aircraft specificity | Products fit a wide range of aircraft functions but may not match a specific aircraft (e.g. SWITCHO panels) | Avionics are 1:1 replicas specific to certain aircraft |
Production | Has a store of consumer products available for immediate shipment | Manufactures products individually when you place the order |
My own subjective summary | A great company with a wide appeal for serious simmers ready to invest money for lifetime products | A great company that focuses on near-perfection for top-of-the-line lifetime products, but with a smaller product catalog |
Here’s a comparison of their G1000s:
Virtual-Fly | Aviatek |
---|---|
Realistic dimensions | Realistic dimensions |
Requires you to pop out and drag avionics screens into the device | Requires you to pop out and drag avionics screens into the device |
Plastic buttons | Silicone buttons that feel like the real thing |
Plastic housing | Metal housing |
HDMI | DVI (this is my one gotcha with their product, but it can be easily converted to HDMI) |
One variant | Multiple variants, including touchscreen |
2785 € | 3299 € for the equivalent unit of Virtual Fly’s (again, they sell different variants) |
Stand: 125 € | Stand: 125 € (1, 2. Can also buy risers so yoke/throttle can fit underneath) |
Will do. No further update so will send another email this week.
I’d kick off a credit card refund pronto if i was you.
Yes I have claimed with a section 75. (UK) I understand the 120 days limit to claim is not from the date items were ordered but from when the items should have been delivered.
I have today had a reply from Aviatek confirming they are in financial trouble as I suspected.
As they mainly supply the USA their sales have collapsed to zero recently. I suspect due to trump and Co and all the problems his gang are causing.
For the third time Aviatek promissed to send next week. But sadly I cannot wait any longer with the amount of money spent.
If genuine I feel sorry for them as I believe they produced a good product and gave good back up.
Will update if any further news. But I suspect they require a large cash injection but that of course no good if no market for the product.
Yes, shame for them.
However, you’ve spent a lot of money and deserve to get it back via the credit card guarantee.
Money refunded in just a couple of days I’m amazed! (From bank)
I wish Aviatek well and hope they can recover. Though they could have been more up front from the beginning and not keep making multiple excuses.
Hi everyone,
I’m Bartosz, owner and founder of Aviatek. I wanted to take a moment to address the concerns raised in this thread and provide some context directly.
Yes, we’ve gone through a rough patch — we faced some serious supply chain disruptions and financial challenges that unfortunately caused significant delays in fulfilling certain orders. It was a tough period, and I take full responsibility for not communicating as openly as we should have during that time.
That said, I want to reassure you all that the main issues have now been resolved. We’re back on track, and most of the significantly delayed orders have already been fulfilled. We’ve made substantial progress, and we’re committed to keeping it that way.
As for the customer who opened this thread — he’s absolutely right that we had a long delay in his case. I also did share some internal struggles with him privately, which may not have been the best move on my part. After he was refunded by his bank, I personally reached out to him twice, offering to ship his full order at no cost, so he could try it out for a week or two. If he wanted to keep it, we’d ask for payment then. If not, he could send it back at our expense. Unfortunately, I never received a reply.
I understand the frustration caused by delays, and we’ve learned from this experience. We’re still here, still operating, and more committed than ever to supporting the flight simulation community with high-quality, realistic hardware and software.
Thanks for your understanding, and if anyone has questions, feel free to reach out directly.
Best regards,
Bartosz
