I tried to install this mod that allows Flight Simulator to read Google Maps instead of Bing ones. I ran this app it worked even if in reality, despite there being an improvement in the graphics, unfortunately the altimetry remains that of Bing and therefore there is no real advantage. I went back to using FS in a normal way but, sad surprise, Fs is no longer able to connect, always the message of insufficient bandwidth and remains offline. This means having faux cartoon ground textures. What to do? I tried to Uninstall Fs and reinstall it then copy the backup that fortunately I had made recently but it didn’t help.
Flight simulator no longer connects to the internet and if it succeeds it gives the message of insufficient bandwidth when I go to 30 mb / s, and before it worked perfectly even with band at 15 or less mb / s.
I have regularly purchased and paid for the premium version of Flight Simulator 2020. I have only tried a mod that is distributed on Flightsim.to. I’m not a pirate !?
All that was pointed out is that you installed a mod that alters the map source away from the official maps, the alteration broke your sim and you’re asking for help on the official forum.
Surely the questions should be directed to the distributor of the mod?
However to help here, there are videos which covers how to uninstall the mod. I’m not going to link here because I’m not promoting the installation of this mod.
However, the key part I believe is the host entries added by the mod.
And like one of the videos states, how long do you expect this mod to work before Asobo make a change to stop this?
After all Microsoft cannot be happy that people are altering their showcase product using Google maps instead of their own inbuilt Bing maps
There’s currently a lot of fearmongering surrounding this mod. I mean, what is the difference between this and ortho4xp other than one is streaming the data live?
calm down i use this stuff then back to normal, just read manual carefully, and if you wanna get back, just do same, what in manual… after all back disable online services in options(photogram bind whatever) start without it, then go to option and turn online services back, that’s it
No one using this is going to get a SWAT team coming down their chimney, but it looked like deep level meddling that I really didn’t want to get into.
Since it takes an entire day or more redownload the sim I don’t touch anything that has the potential to corrupt it.
True, but there are different types of mods, and this mod really changes something in the core of the sim, unlike a livery or a 3rd party aircraft. These mods are just additions to the core of MSFS.
relate your settings this mode have zero dangerous, other side - it do nothing good, because use not adopted map, msfs use not bind but adopted bind with azure balackshark whatever else, some time this mod will look better but most of time - glitch and useless
