Other than the MS/Asobo/WT CJ4, Longitude and FlySimWare Lear 35 what else is out there now in the biz jet segment and what is coming down the pike?
Puts on FlightFX QA hat briefly
Citation X (C750) within the next few months, and we have a few more things in the hopper.
Hat comes off
FS Reborn is working on a Phenom 300 for FS24 I believe.
There’s already a Phenom 100 and Citation Mustang from Cockspur for 2020. Not sure if they’re officially 2024-compatible yet - I have both but have not tried to port them over yet.
Phenom 100 works, some oddities but nothing show stopping.
You forgot to mention the Hjet.
+1 Hjet and Lear 35A
HJet works in 2024 but needs some revisions. Very popular in 2020 for sure. Also Vision Jet in 2020.
Big Radials JetStar
Would love to see some large cabin jets. Gulfstreams, Falcons, Globals etc.
I’ve flown the FFX vision JET, Hjet and cockspur PH100 in 2020. All fly great, can’t wait to fly them in 2024
Manufactures of such biz jets are said to jealously guard their proprietary intellectual property, and owners willing to grant access are probably also very rare, making it difficult for developers to model them.
Gulfstream very rarely let sim versions of their aircraft happen. I think most of the ones that are around are ‘unofficial’, as it were.
If you want to go ‘very large bizjet’ then the PMDG 737 has a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) variant IIRC.
That’s what I heard as well. Sucks they won’t even open up for a legacy model. A Gulfstream GIV hasn’t been in production for years and some of them are literally older than I am.
I can kinda guess they may not want their competition to gain access to flight model dynamics? But I doubt in modern day that Dasault or Bombardier are sitting around scratching their heads wondering how Gulfstream is doing what they do, Or visa versa.
Yea I had the PMDG 738 in 2020 and did a few flights with the BBJ but it’s still a 737. I don’t think they’re flying those into Bern Switzerland or some other airport large enough for a Gulfstream but too small/no proper services for something like a 737
I’m personally a massive fan of the Vision Jet for those small airport bizjet experiences, but the HJet will land on short runways (I like to take it into EGLC where in RL you can’t land a single-engine aircraft) and the Cockspur PH100 is fun too. Can’t wait for Raul’s Phenom 300 to be ready, I know he’ll do a great job on that.
Even the Longitude can go into relatively short runways, with its reversers being a great help for slowing quickly. The 2024 version is much improved, though far from study level.
The Phenom 300 will be perfect. I love the PC24 but it needs a slight tweak to the flight model to fly a bit better. The vision jet is great but slow, the Honda jet was my go to for altitude, speed and still be able to get into short strips.
I haven’t been able to download the Cockspur PH100 from their website(the download keeps failing), I had to buy it from the marketplace in 2020 to get it, so I bought it twice. Now that I only use 2024 I’ve unfortunately lost access to most of 2020 purchases for now(I was on a different account in 2020 and all my purchases are tied to that account)
There is a Cj3+ coming from a 3rd party dev too. I like the Cj4 and have no issues with it other than lack of systems depth. And I have a ton of G1000 time IRL so the G3000 is an easy switch for me.
I had the bug with the longitude where the reversers would activate but never go above idle reverse and was basically useless on landing. It is a sim though so I can smoke the brakes to stop if I have too.
Moving forward I’ll buy as much as possible from 3rd party devs directly so I can store a back up on a separate drive so I don’t run into this again
The CJ3+ is also by Raul Simbom/FSReborn. But that’s way down the road after Phenom.
Good to know, I didn’t know about the phenom until this thread so I’m looking forward to both
I’ve honestly been surprised we haven’t got a Premier 1A yet in FS2020/FS2024. I remember we got one from Carenado in P3D and X-Plane.
Would love to see a good Citation II/SP. Steam gauges ftw.
