I’ve only used the PMS50 GTN750/650 units thus far. I’ll try a few more configurations as I learn these planes.
Wow what a cool plane! I knew nothing about the B60. Pleasantly surprised by the Grand Duke cruise at 205 kts…
Anyone know of Duke Simbrief Profiles? Definitely not on SB’s site, but people can create and share their own.
I’m having the same issue.
The TDS and PMS Garmin show up in the plane just fine and can import flight plan.
But the autopilot won’t engage. Every time I hit it I hear a beep and doesn’t engage.
EDIT: Never mind a problem on my end. Didn’t have Pitch Trim switch in proper direction. Working fine now woot.
If you choose the KX-155 as the primary, you can choose one of the GPS options as secondary and it will drive the instruments. From the manual:
When a GPS is selected as the secondary avionics choice, it will only drive the pilot’s HSI and autopilot if no GPS is selected as the primary avionics selection, and the capability exists for the secondary choice. For example, a secondary PMS50 GTN 650 or TDS GTNxi 650 will drive the autopilot and pilot’s HSI if the KX155 is selected as the primary radio.
Superb planes! Bought the bundle but was really after the turbine. After the first flights I find myself gravitating towards the piston. I can see these being a firm favourite for a very long time. Very interesting to fly.
There’s only two minor issues for me. Can you please, please, please, re-enable the headphone simulation. It’s shown on the tablet in the manual. Those sounds really are fantastic, possibly the best in the sim to date but those engine are LOUD. I’m sure I’m not alone with this one.
The other is to allow the tablet to be moved again (like in the preview videos). I’m a VR flyer and it sits just off the end of my nose and I find myself leaning back to view it.
Right, back to Simbrief to plan the next flight…
Not yet. I use the king air for the turbine and the Baron B-58 for the piston. Performance is not the same but it’s the best ball park I could think of for now.
I agree, headphone simulation and cold & dark. <3
I thought there was a walkaround, but I may have gotten it confused with the new Tomahawk. Would be nice.
in JF forum they reported that issue, and it seems to come from legacy mode

I had the same issue earlier. Switching to the Lock interaction option (in the Accessibility settings) instead of Legacy allows it to be moved. After setting it where I want it, I changed back to Legacy. .
For some reason I can’t change it from legacy, it’s greyed out?
did you tried while using in VR ? maybe it s available only in 2D mode :-/ been scanning fastly the forum, it was always VR user having it greyed
I posted a request on the Navigraph forum regarding these profiles for simbrief.
Feel free to upvote it, I guess the more votes the faster we can see some profiles ![]()
Cheers
Happy landings
guys, does this aircraft supports sime rate acceleration?
yes I had no issue speeding the sim
Done 5 flights, around 1,5000 nm. And I can say I’m mostly regretting buying just one (the turbopop one), now I will hesitate to pay the full price for the other one ![]()
Haven’t had any failures yet despite using the x5 times option, which is surprising after flying the BKSQ King Air which seemed to get something any other flight despite only having x4
That saying I did overheat the battery on a very hot Brazilian day after forgetting to switch to “both” for startup.
Highlights for me:
- Amazing visuals
- Great sounds. But very very loud. Normally I love taxiing with the window open, but here there is no chance

- I’m only flying with radio navigation and have the feeling that this AP is much smarter when following an oscillating course needle. In the King Air it was annoying as the AP tried to chase it, here it often seems like it just follows the average and keeps stable. No idea what is more realistic, but this is so much less annoying.
- The systems are obviously top, even managing the AC/heating has a lot of depth.
- Love the feature rich Engine Trend Monitor
- Panel lights that actually make the panel visible on a bright day are a godsend and surprisingly rare in the sim.
+/- I was watching all of the introductory videos and based on those I was expecting the turboprop version to also have “sticky” needles. But apparently it’s only a thing for the piston version. Which kind of makes sense, in the turbine a lot of those are semi-digital so it would be awkward. Still, one feature less ![]()
+/- The autopilot is often acting awkwardly when in ATT mode and coming close to the set altitude. Might be how the real thing handles, though.
- I respect that Blacksquare might have good reasons for not introducing full state saving, either related to a personal approach or limitations of what works best with how the planes are coded. But for me, a top fidelity plane without saving is just worse. It takes away from the ownership feeling and makes shutdown lists meaningless. Oh well, maybe some day…

on my end I try to don’t watch the actual active failure, and limit myself fixing them in main airport so sometime I have to fly few flight with landing light broken or whatever minor issues, or it take me a bit of time before I realise it s broken, so doing that way I increase that ownership feeling and checklist necessity
I’m doing the exact same thing ![]()
But not talking about the failures here, but about switch positions mostly.
I have the piston Duke. It is superb. In the manual it shows the tablet options page including headphone simulation. Anyone know why it isn’t available/visible in the actual plane? Did they remove or deactivate that feature or something?
Hi! Really Happy BKSQ Piston and Turbine Duke owner here!
I think this plane is my favorite in the sim right now, but I do have a couple suggestions/bug reports. If this is not the right place to report them, would the developer so kindly point me in the direction of where to submit such things. I am really not used to forums because I use Discord for almost every MSFS Developer, so forgive me if my forum etiquette is not perfect ![]()
Suggestions/Bugs
- The prop cone, pictured here
is not animated outside of the prop blades. There is a blurred, and still prop cone image, but the 3D prop cone isn’t animated. The BKSQ TBM 850 is the same way and this is something I have only seen with BKSQ. I fly from the inside mostly, but I do fly from External view a bit too! External view is great for the beautiful sounds, screenshots, looking back at the group flight, showing the plane to my stream, etc.
I wonder, is there any plan to animate this? Also, out of curiosity, why did you decide not to animate it, is there any reason based on performance? Not a deal breaker by any means but either way, I would love to see this animated. Once you know you know, then you can’t unsee the “blurry-still” prop cone.

On the Nose Baggage door, slightly Aft, and down of the first clip/keyhole right on the bottom seam of the door there is a part of the door that sticks out along the bottom edge. It shows especiall when the sun shines on it. There is also a small triangular “Defect” directly above the second clip on the same door. These are most likely small 3D modeling errors that could be fixed. (this 3D model is beautiful btw, such a great job, I love to see the improvement over the TBM 850 3D model!)

Suggestion: Adding a Cold and Dark, Ready to Taxi, and Ready to Fly, would be really nice for people who have limited time, and would like to still complete different stages of the pre-flight. Also, Cold and Dark would be great for those times when, spawning into the World, the Sim decides to put you somewhere you didn’t click, outside of the parking spaces, or even sometimes, the sim starts you with the plane on in a parking space.
This is a REALLY REALLY great plane, and for Two Piston Models for $35, and a Turbine model for $35, (prices assuming the double package was purchased) both with custom sound, systems beautiful models and textures, failures, engine monitoring, Tablet etc. etc., this could be one of the best priced planes in the sim when you look at it that way! Thanks for your time, hope to hear from someone from Blacksquare one way or the other! I, and the rest of the community, love to hear from and interact with developers about their planes!
