Black Square Steam Gauge Overhaul Baron 58

Just saw that in the book…thanks

It does not draw power but might effect your carbon monoxide levels

Having so much fun with this plane and the Bonanza. Emersion is great! This is more what I expected out of “Premium” level aircraft.

On my first flight with the Steam Gauge Overhaul all the gauges froze for a minute or two and then came back fully functional (no failure indicated). I’ve seen this happen in other aircraft on rare occasions, but since this a gauge replacment mod, freezing gauges are a bit of a red flag.

Did anyone else experience that? Otherwise it was great though!

Dont think that to be a mod related issue and certainly from my end. It is a gem and you would amaze me if you didnt love it. Unless you are one of those door openers.

I m agree with Magic6420 as I have this kind of issue with few other aircraft while flying with air hauler 2 or OnAir but never with FSe, and for a shorter time (like 10 sec after take off) so I guess this might be a simconnect issue, flying the baron within FSe and never noticed this

The Steam Gauge Overhaul opened up two beautiful aircraft to me that I never flew before, because of the terrible glass cockpits. Getting a full on simulation with failures, wear and tear, spark plug fouling etc. on top of that? Just amazing! Well worth the money.

I do like to open some doors during pre-flight/post flight, but It’s fine if it’s not possible. The vast majority of simming is done in the air, and I’m not much for opening doors midflight. Please go to Trevor Jacob for that.

Flightsimto does not allow requests submissions other than liveries and sceneries, so i’m going to post this here.

Anyone would be willing to make a mod for the floodlight color to change it from green to red?

I have noticed this in both the Blk Square Baron and the King Air. I have only noticed the Altimeter freezes during decent or climb (maybe other gauges too but did not notice). But it’s only about 5-10 seconds. Not sure if it happens every flight and just happen to notice or it’s only once in a while.

The cabin heater burns avgas I think - and I looked over to the internal temp gauge at one point & saw it at 75C, so it’s quite crazily effective :stuck_out_tongue: not sure if it could really get things that hot. Someone care to test a real one for science?

The Janitrol combustion heater in the Seminoles I flew was crazy effective. I think it’s the same used in a Baron, but there are different models providing different BTUs.

Either way, on a cold day, it would heat up the cabin in just a few minutes. It fed off the left fuel tank and burned 0.5 gal/hour. The output plenum at the heater easily gets up to 120°C, so 75°C in the cockpit is absolutely feasible, moreso if it’s a pressurized aircraft.

What are some of the main changes you have made in the cockpit? I see “Beechcraft” added to most gauges and NSWE used in place of 0, 180, 270 and 90, and some small font changes.

It’s probably my lack of knowledge of a Baron analog cockpit, but how significant are the changes? Could you post some specifics to look for? Thanks!

according to the details mentionned on flightsim.to

-All cockpit placards redesigned with real life fonts used by manufacturer to label buttons and warnings.

-Beechcraft logo added to some instruments.

-KI-525 redrawn with real life instrument textures.

-KI-229 compass redrawn with real life instrument textures.Yellow/ Green Needles colors corrected (were inverted in the original instrument)

-KI206 compass redrawn with real life instrument textures.

-KRA-10 redrawn with real life instrument textures.

-Bendix-King and Garmin suite redesigned with correct fonts and logos.

-Bendix-Kingdigits reshaped to give them a less flat appearance.

-Bendix-KIng font corrected for Number “7” digit which has in real life 3 segments iso 4.

-Red /orangish background added to all Bendix/KIng suite.

I have a weird one, when I switch on the the master, the audio also includes the fuel pumps, but they are not switched on or applying and “pressure” to the fuel. If I select the fuel pumps switch to high, the audio does not change but the fuel pressure does increase as expected.

any ideas?

ps, I do not have any other mods installed

do you use an external panel or controller with switches ? maybe a spad.next profile got the same sound scripted on a bind ? or script that doesn’t return the value to the default and keep playing the sound event…
