There is quite a bit more to the package than just glass vs analog. This is basically a study level a/c. Working C/Bs, different flap config, failures for improper power settings, saved state, etc.
IOW, you’re purchasing a whole new aircraft (in this case built on an existing model).
All this sounds very promising - looking forward to the King Air as that I definitely will be grabbing.
I’m glad the caravan lovers have theirs….but what about us king air lovers??

The convenience of buying stuff through the Marketpalce in game is nice, but I try to purchase directly from the developers when I can.

I love the videos that Captain Vanderburgh (sp?) did. I’ve listen to them many times while I was commuting. Fascinating stuff and I love the way he presented the information. Very cool!

Its a lot easier to scan when it a 1:1 full size display, as opposed to a miniature gauge on a PC computer screen.
Suit yourself of course but they’re really a great company, even very active with user support here on the forum. Whenever they have an update for their products, they send you an email and you update without much hassle. 
Anybody have any idea how to apply the ftsim+ caravan soundpack to the new steam gauge package from black square?

Why is having an old aircraft with analog dials better compared to a new one? When you’re talking about safety I guess the old aircraft is more likely to go wrong than the new one unless the old one had been completely rebuilt lately
In any case we’re in a simulator here, so the preferences may be completely different than in the real world. And even in the real world someone who flies just for fun a few hours a month, may prefer the analog gauges because they feel more real.
Same can be said for cars. Modern cars have the equivalent of glass cockpits too. Combined with a collection of assistance systems - that basically will do 80% of the work themselves on the motorway - driving long distances in one of those cars is extremely safe and comfortable. It also happens to be exceptionally boring.
So when I really want to drive a car, I’ll take out my over 40-year-old classic and drive over small roads into the mountains and back. That’s driving for me. The modern car is just covering a distance to get from point A to point B.
I fly either from a life size panel on a 55" 4K TV or in VR, so that’s not the issue.
The issue is that with gauges, each piece of information is well separated, and easily understood from the position of a needle, like a clock, which is MUCH faster for me to determine than the same information in either numbers or multiple pieces of information next to a tape.
I’m an excellent reader, but I’m even better at seeing things graphically by shape, I can picture objects in my mind, full on assemblies of super complex designs all running in my head. So.. Gauges are easier for me to scan than a single PFD.
Now, with enough practice, a PFD might be just as easy in the future for me. Right now, gauges are wayyy easier. There’s too many PFD designs and shapes and sizes and they all show information differently. While not all steam planes have a six pack, it doesn’t take long to rearrange the gauges in my head as they are all pretty much the same.
Folks, may I kindly interrupt the friendly back and forth over gauges and ask someone to please give their overall feelings on the module? I don’t have a chance to buy it at the moment and I am quite excited about it.
I really like it. Everything is functional in the cockpit except for the doors. They’ve tied everything together nicely, and as far as fidelity, it’s all there. I just wish that there were programmable failures similar to the C310, but I’m impressed. Was holding out initially for the King Air, but will likely be working by the time it comes out so wanted to check their overall quality. I’d say, if you’ve got $30 to spend, and want a Caravan that is pretty ■■■■ realistic, then go for it. They did a nice job.
