Just did another 2024 depature out of KMIA. i714700k/4080Super/64RAM on Ultra settings with 200mbps download speed. Belle Glade on FL250 looks like this…its just frustrating at this stage. I consider a reinstall now.
I am definitely experiencing blurry and generally bad ground textures. I spawned in several areas just to be sure (Seattle, Honolulu, Sydney, Ft. Lauderdale), every place I tried it was the same with Florida being a tiny bit better for some reason. It’s a shame since the quality of the buildings and vegetation have improved markedly. I sure hope they figure it out, it’s a real immersion-breaker for me.
Can you post this is the bug reporting thread - with screenshots, following the reporting template. Especially provide brandwidth, hardware specs, and relevant settings (e.g. dynamic setiing on/off, TLOD).

Yup. After 2 weeks there’s no way they are not aware they are somehow streaming satellite data in lower resolution compared to 2020, lol. I’m afraid it was delibarte downgrade and they are testing how many people actually care.

i start thinking that they limited the quality of textures on purpose until they fix the servers issues, and they don’t want to tell it to us in order to not face many upset people
can a moderator confirm is this topic is the proper place to start reporting blurry textures in detail as per Martial Bossard requested today in the dev stream?
Even the clouds look terrible from a distance.
In my opinion it is quite clear MSFS 2024 is focused on those flying in 3rd person view very close to the ground.
They increased the detail when close to the ground to make it look better, and then reduced the visuals elsewhere to make up for the performance loss of the newer detailed ground.
Done by design for more of the Xbox market.
It is their sim of course and I respect the developers are free to do what they want, it is just disappointing that’s all.
it’s clear that the textures and weather/clouds quality are bad, and i don’t agree in the fact that the developer are free to do what they want, they must deliver to us what was being advertised by them
Why should they test if anybody cares?
This thing has to run on 5 year old console hardware.
It takes ages to load textures as they are, now imagine what happens if resolution were to be increased…![]()
Move on guys, it’s not a technical issue and that has to be accepted. Am I happy? No. Am I entitled to something I wished for in this context? No.
Eh, with all due respect this doesn’t make sense. MSFS is using aggressive LODs, ground in high detail appear only from… well, ground level. Fly just 500 feet above corn or grass field and all those individual plants will instantly disappear, turning into flat textures.
So by no means new ground detail affect LQ satellite textures we see from FL200 because it’s not being displayed at that point. The issue is different and hard to explain in any other way than delibarte choice to lower THEIR bandwith usage… or some kind of bug. Maybe how new, custom textures for ground interact with satellite data or something.

It’ s a nice challenge.
Nevertheless it would be nicer not to have this qirky behavior.

Did you try a deinstall and then reinstall ?
That takes only a few minutes.
It helped with me.
