Can somebody please confirm that the fuel mixture actually has an effect? I can change fuel mixture in extreme ways (from 100% almost to cut), and don’t see an impact on speed, RPM, fuel flow or EGT. If I reduce mixture to 0%, engine power is cut.
Am I doing something wrong? I initially thought I had an interference with the G36 improvement mod, but I removed it, and still see the same non-impact of mixture.
Is this mod still working fine with latest update?
The last time I used it was some time last week and I had no issues.
No problems, except for the fuel mixture thing I mentioned. Don’t know though if this is related to the mod, or a general issue.
I have been flying Robert Young’s G36 Turbo-normalized mod since the USA update, and I am not seeing any unusual behavior with the mixture. The old bug where fuel flow dropped at full rich mixture has been fixed, but EGT still climbs as I lean the mixture. It reaches a peak and drops again as I continue to lean. I am using v0.3.2 of the Working Title G1000 mod along with the G36 turbo. Check to make sure that automixture is not enabled in your settings.
Auto Mixture was on, thanks for pointing that out. I wasn’t even aware that was a thing. So, now I’m gonna try how if I don’t want it back on soon, lol.
The max. speed of this plane (with the Turbo mod) is about 200 kn. What do I need to do to achieve that velocity in operation? I’m usually stuck at about <180 kn, leaned out.
What altitude? I generally have to go higher to hit 200, at least 10k.
Hey @Weylandt, Here is the text lifted from the Document provided in the Mod folder, hope it helps clarify…
Below is a summary of performance figures for the turbo version:
Climb – 1,400 feet per minute at sea level and 1,300 feet per minute at max take-off weight from 4,000 feet up to 8,000 feet . 1,200 fpm up to 11,000 feet. 900 to 1000 feet per minute up to 17,500 feet.
Cruise Climb at 130-140 knots TAS all the way up to 22,000 feet abd beyond!
Approximate Maximum Cruise Speeds with throttle wide open: -
183 knots (210 mph) at sea level - 2700 rpm (with 97% mixture as 100% is rich of peak even at sea level)
197 knots TAS (227 mph) at 11,000 feet - 2500 rpm
212 knots TAS (243 mph) at 17,500 feet - 2500 rpm
207 knots TAS (238 mph) at 22,000 feet - 2500 rpm
Best cruise speed = 222 knots TAS (255 mph) at 17,500 feet – 2600 rpm
Note: the above speeds (except at sea level) can be higher still with full 2700 rpm but for engine reliability /fuel economy I assume setting typical cruise rpm of approximately 2500 rpm.
Note 2 : In order to achieve the performance highlighted above, it is necessary to use manual mixture in your FS2020 “Assistance” settings. If you fly the Bonanza with auto-mixture it will not perform as intended
Ah okay, thanks for the clarification. It seems I just need to go to an higher altitude. Should have thought of that myself.
Thanks all
just downloaded/installed the turbo mod, but when i tried to take off, it veers to the right and will not lift off. like it is glued to the runway… no joy!!
Do you have the flight model set to ‘modern’ in the options? (Legacy provides partial compatibility with FSX aircraft and should not be used with anything created for MSFS)
Never been interested in the Bonanza to be honest, but when I saw the Realair maestro Rob Young was behind it, then job one is to go and get it. Job two, is to go and fly it and in all probability job three will be to wipe the smile off my face.
Same here, but with Rob flight model and working title garmin upgrades this is one of the best GA planes out there, including payware ones.
Too bad it doesn’t have steam gauges though, that would make it purrrrrrfect.
But it is great though and one of my favourites.
Agreed re the steam. Can’t wait for the SF260 to come along
Agree on jobs one, two and three.
Here’s an idea for job four: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_donations&business=XMBLBU72YLFMA¤cy_code=GBP&Z3JncnB0=
Does the mod only work with the new liveries, or does it also work with my other liveries?
Is this MOD no longer being worked on?
It looks like project ended
Hope someone will pick it one day
It doesn’t look like there’s anything left to do in it.
From my perspective it is perfect as it is.
