I just think strongly about the new aircraft categories.
To me it made so much more sense how it was in FS2020, now it kinda got very generic and you have to scroll a lot to find the selection you’re looking for.
Please bring back the old categories (Jets, Propeller, Turboprop etc.)
I just wanted to create a new entry for the wishlist, but then my post would probably have been merged into this one.
But I think you should change the title of this post, because they won’t bring back the 2020 Aircraft Menu. I would prefer “Add Subcategories to the aircraft menu”.
Especially the “aircraft” category is too big. I would propose single engine prop, multi engine prop, business jets, airliners and perhaps special aircraft for oldtimers and local legends.
If the aircraft favorites wishlist item is deemed applicable to MSFS 2024 and has 560+ votes why isn’t it showing up on the current Thursday development update top wishlist snapshot.
The current snapshots only have newly created requests since the release of 2024. My concern is that this thread with many votes will get buried as a legacy MSFS 2020 request and never be implemented for the new 2024 simulator.
If the moderators are merging new posts into my original request how can we ensure it has visibility as a top wishlist item in MSFS 2024?

W.r.t. 2020 & 2024 items in future Development Updates - Let’s see how they look in 2025. I think the reason that the charts just showed 2024 items in the last update was those were of specific interest to the community at the time.
I’m unaware of any potential changes to the format of future Development Update posts, but that does not mean the Community Managers are not planning any!!
You’ll notice that your topic (the link I referenced) is now tagged with both msfs-2020 & msfs-2024.
No changes were introduced to aircraft categories in SU2 v 1.4.20.0.
I very much want additional aircraft sorting abilities, like sort by cruise speed, max altitude, engine type, water runway capable, or to mark favorites. The column based sorting that the SonicViz Aircraft Manager provided in MSFS 2020 was amazing. It made selecting an aircraft very easy for a group flight where only the runway surface and cruise speed were known.
