I have $20 in Microsoft Reward money burning a hole in my digital pocket and I’m this close to picking this up, as I’ve loved Bill’s stuff since his freeware days.
But I think I’ll save the MS spacebucks for the upcoming Staggerwing and wait for Bill to release the Jungmann on SimMarket, so I can access the config files and tweak audio, etc.
The audio discussion’s interesting. I’m guessing if there’d been a claim of “recorded from a real Bucker!” that 80% of those protesting would have never known it wasn’t the case. The call for being able to swap in the engine sounds for the Stearman kind of backs this up, since the Stearman’s open radial is going to sound a lot less like the Bucker’s inline, cowled engine than a Cessna does.
I get the importance of audio, and I’ll be glad when the MSFS ecosystem matures to the point where devs can get authentic sound recreation in a manageable fashion. So if I do find the Cessna sound noticeably weird, buying this one from a non-Marketplace vendor will let me easily swap in something that feels better.

From what I saw and heard on YouTube, the engine sound is not the problem, especially in the external view. It just does not sound like an open cockpit when you are inside. That’s something that the DC Designs Stearman does very nicely, the wind noise, the rattling and creaking, all the small things that create the feeling of sitting in an open cockpit biplane.
I love the 3D modelling of the Jungmann, and the flight model seems to be okay. Maybe I’ll get it if I find it on sale, but for 25€ … probably not.
I thought Lionheart Creations was hard at work on their Trinidad figuring out how to turn the landing lights on, how to create sounds for things like doors closing, and how enable the MSFS 2020 custom registration number feature. I really like the Trinidad, but it is not finished.
Instead, they release a new aircraft where those things probably aren’t used. I sure hope they circle back and finish the Trinidad.
I forgot this came out, but I guess it’s because it’s still a Marketplace exclusive, and I won’t buy from there.
I don’t know what this sounds like since I can’t even hear it in the review I watched, but I’ve been reading through the comments here. Black Box Simulations had less than stellar sounds for their Islander at launch, and they had a lot of complaints about it. They made the right move and hired a sound engineer who completely redid the audio. It sounds fantastic now!
Either way, I’ll buy it once it’s available on Just Flight.
The AP seems whacked. It will fly level for a little while and then veer up or down and needs to be reset. Also trying to get the heading to move is a real pain, it’s painstakingly slow and makes it useless to use.
I still don’t mind flying this aircraft despite its flaws, just hand fly. It does need some TLC to the gauges and ground handling (very tippy).
