So “beautiful”.
And before anyone says “you are not supposed to get that close to the buildings”. Then why can I do so in San Franciso, Los Angeles New York and many other photogrammetry cities that look much better and have better performance too? ![]()

Has anyone got around this yet? I’ve still got the same issue, tried everything including a clean install after SU5, London scenery looks like zombie-ville. Was working fine before so not sure why this is happening.
Having once lived in London I can tell you it’s all a vast improvement
Not flown around London in a while but for some reason the buildings look like this, any ideas? i have deleted and reinstalled the World update 3 UK but still have the problems.
The scenery before the main focal points of London load and look fine. As soon as you get to the updated parts it looks poor..
i have the same problem in London and Paris, if someone have a solution for this
Definitely something with the server. Mine looks like this too now after SU5. Live in South Korea with a good internet connection. Have tried VPNs and connecting to other servers but it’s still atrocious. Other cities don’t look too bad.
ive also had this since world update 3,yried everything my pc brain will allow to fix it but still the same, why do some people have good visuals and all i get is melted buildings?,this is in london, bristol, paris,i do hope this will be fixed soon
There is a server issue affecting photogrammetry going on. See the big banner at the top of the forums
It’s both the poor quality and low LOD settings of London and to some extent Paris.
When WU3 first came out, the LOD of London PG was better than it is today. BUT many complained of very poor performance. So I guess Asobo lowered the LOD values.
So couple the low LOD with the worst PG quality relative to other cities, you have the perfect storm of, well that. Lol
Since the latest “World update” and the patches released for other world updates ie 1,2,3 etc.
London now has the correct visuals, no grey boxes and bizarre shapes..
London is still bad…
Is photogrammetry maybe turned off in your settings?
London PG is bad for me also.
It’s bad for everyone below 1500ft
Yep it’s terrible on Xbox series x. Constantly changing and morphing.
Wasn’t like that originally
Most of the buildings in London - in reality - ARE ugly!
But it would be nice, I agree, if MSFS could render that ugliness with fidelity and with
more consistent results.
My suggestion from my own experience would be the following: If once again the buildings in London (or elsewhere in a PBR area) look so horrible, simply activate pause. And wait. In my configuration, it takes between 20 and 30 seconds (rarely longer) for the CPU, network and GPU to render more detailed textures in the image. And then end the active pause and continue flying.
It seems to be the same phenomenon that has been observed with airports in PBR areas as tiles. The GPU needs certain time to process more detailed textures as image. During normal flight there is not enough time, but during an “active pause” this process is faster because the whole scenery does not need to be updated.
By the way, the slower you fly, the less often such problems occur. Sightseeing I do almost only in the Bell Helicopter because it is slower than planes ![]()
I know it’s hard to break up the flight like that, but for me it’s worth it. Or you buy a sinfully expensive PC
. Hopefully Asobo/MS will find a better solution (DirectX12? Or something else).
if i pause and let the scenery load, once i start flying again i have the same problem with the scenery taking ages to load in just a little further along my route. like you i also fly heli’s over london.
i thought the melted buildings/slow scenery loading in london was a post su5 problem but i found this thread from last feb which describes the same problem:
Always install your rolling cache to your fastest drive and if the problem persists then at least try a small 4GB ram drive. Also keep your hard drives in good shape, not too full and always let Windows handle virtual memory (although this also can be moved to your fastest drive).
I agree. After SU5, rolling cache is kind of mandatory.
