Buying 787 individually

You don’t have to buy MSFS again. I did buy the standard version to check if I would like the new sim and upgraded via the market place to premium deluxe a bit later get the Longitude and the 787.

In the Sim marketplace:
Premium Deluxe Upgrade: $123.90

Microsoft.com:
Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe: $189.90
Microsoft Flight Simulator: Standard: $109.90

Sorry, what you claim is wrong. The difference should be $80 (All NZD)

I don’t see anything wrong.
Upgrading from standard is more expensive than buying the premium deluxe version.
It’s been that way since day one.

Welcome to the point of my post.

It’s horrible. I will not pay $123.90 for the 787 and airport enchantments I don’t need or want.

$80 - maybe.
$50 for single aircraft yes.

But pay the different and more? for what? Is it a penalty for not buying it together up front? Seriously what else could it be?

In that case you should have formulated your post in a different way.

@darshonaut
I like the 787, even in it’s default version a lot.

So why charge extra? anyone able to explain that. why not just the difference?

Marketing. It’s that simple and it’s not unique to MSFS.
You knew that upgrading is more expensive when you bought the standard version.

It’s not marketing lol. If you think that’s what it is, you need to learn 101 of marketing.

No I didn’t KNOW this. I got the simple version of the game to try it. Wasn’t a big player of FSX, XP or P3D. I thought I’d buy what I needed, now want to upgrade. I’m not paying more for nothing.

If you don’t read what you buy before you buy, it’s certainly not Microsofts fault!

Because we all read everything prior to ever purchase don’t we. Beside that, it’s still wrong. Charge more for absolutely no reason.

I don’t know who ‘we all’ is, I do.

You read every term and condition or everything prior to purchase. Sure you do.

Just wait for QW edition, although if you wanted the 787 that bad why didn’t you just purchase the bundle that included it originally, it would have worked out the better bang for your buck.

I have no doubt that Asobo will release other aircraft in the future so I guess at some point in the future the 787 will also be available as stand alone, but by the point I fully expect QW to be in the market, they indicated a Q2 release, and the screens they shared seem to be very near completion(what’s visible anyway)

There’s almost no information on QW product.

I didn’t think I would want to upgrade. Never considered it plus I thought 3rd party add-on’s would come along quickly but it appears not.

No need to. Simply compare the available versions and their price.
It’s not that diffcult.

QW have a tendancy to be radio silent, then release.

If you look at there Facebook, you will come across shots of the 78 in the sim, with what appears to be fully complete systems.

Yes, at the time I brought what I needed, wanted.

BTW “we all” is 91% of people

You are comparing apples and oranges.

Not really. Comparing MSFS bundles. Paid for one, why can’t you pay the difference for another.

If you buy economy and want business, guess what. You pay the difference. It’s really that simple.

To be absolutely fair, when I purchased MSFS way back in august, when it came on sale, it did very clearly state on both steam and MS Store that whilst we can upgrade later, it would not be as cost effective as purchasing initially. It definately was not hiding in any terms and conditions. We pretty much knew what we were getting into, and made our choices. I chose to buy the premium deluxe at the start.

Also its not just for marketing that causes this sort of pricing structures exist. Bear in mind that each transaction has its on costs for the business (individual transaction costs, fixed costs, commission, etc). As such two transactions for a business usually always costs more than a single transaction, sometimes significantly so.

Nevertheless its rare that any company sells an “upgrade” for the price difference between purchasing it at the start, whether its software or hardware.
