Does anyone know how to turn off the interior light as seen in the picture, Cessna 172 Ski?
I’ve searched the whole aircraft and can’t see where it’s coming from!
It’s not flashlight as I can switch that on and off.

ALT-F is the default.
ALT-F is for the flashlight,
Using ALT-F makes no difference to light in the picture
If it is not the flashlight, is there a flood light on the ceiling?
Yes but they are off.
I switched on and off all interior lights but that centre light stays on.
It happened to me a few days ago.
In several different airplanes.
After restarting the simulator, that light disappeared.
And it wasn’t because of the flashlight either.
Given that its casting in the exact direction as the view, it looks like the head torch, which automatically comes on when the lights in the plane are off. But you say its not the flashlight, which I believe equates to the head torch, so I can’t see what else it could be.
If you hold the right mouse button, and move the mouse around, or look around with a head tracker, and the light moves with your view, then that would be the head torch.

When I move around, the light remains static and can be seen from outside.
I haven’t had a chance to get back on to the simulator to check it out, as I can’t get past the world map.
As said above it could be just a one off glitch
This is the ski variant and don’t have the issue. Maybe today’s patch fixed the issue ?

Flashing light inside aircraft cabin (Solved!) - #3 by LarryJ2056
Did you try to reinstall the game? I had some weird stuff that I couldn’t solve abd reinstalling solved it. It is a thin client so goes reasonably fast.
Can you trace the source of the light?
Most light sources will have a visual representation of that light source. But if the planes battery is off, and the light stays on, then it’s not coming from the plane itself.
I reinstall the game after every update, unfortunately there is no improvement in this problem. and no, I haven’t been able to locate the light source yet. In any case, it’s not the flashlight.
When you move the view, does the spot light also moves ?
I saw this same issue in one of the other default planes, I don’t recall which, but it was this exact thing — a very strong light source aimed from the rear of the aircraft toward the instrument panel that was NOT the flashlight nor a light that was controllable via the aircraft’s lighting controls.
I just quit the aircraft, and flew something else and figured it was just another poor QA issue.
Maybe this one: C207 interior spot light
That’s not a 172 cockpit (prop lever).
In devmode (for 2020, so I guess also for 2024), there is a module where you can individually check lights. Maybe you find the source in there?
There were issues reported with lights facing the opposite direction of where they should be oriented. Might that be the taxi/landing light shining onto the panel from behind?
It’s present in the DHC-6:

And the Baron:
What is this weird spotlight, anyhow?
EDIT2:
Here it is in the CL-415. What is interesting is looking through the fuselage, you can see this mysterious light source:
