So I had completed one flight, shutdown the aircraft, loaded up and then started up again. Followed the Cessna checklist. Tried trip, reset multiple times. STBY power off, then on again. Trip & reset nothing. Two lights on, stby power on and generator off. After trying different options, the one that cleared everything was placing the start switch to motor, then it pops back to off. Warning lights cleared.
You mean motor then off or do you have to leave it in motor? That shouldnāt be doing that and doesnāt for me. Perhaps something else in your community folder is causing this.
after āstarter offā you should āresetā generator (itās not working so i just click once starter instead) and then you check generator load. You, were going on battery all taxi till take off.
speed up to 95 and then retract flaps (initial 85-95) and after that climb at 110-120kias
cabin lights off when turning on taxi lights
there is no reason to keeping ON ldg lights so far
you can also check:
a.) governor by putting 1800rpm and click governor test
b.) anti ice by watching gen load when turning on switches one by one
c.) inertial separator by watching itt increase
d.) stby alternator by switch trip, check load, reset it and turn off till take off
At the moment is ok, and in compere to other YT tutorials this one is very good but there is still few things to work out
Governor test button is simulated. You can see rpm deecrease when you push it. But you must have >1800rpm.
Also gen load when you switching anti ice. You must click āsystemā on mfd to see it. Stby alt as well when you click ātripā when testing (in system)
Only inertial separator is not simulated⦠it should be because its most characteristic thing in c208
TKS works on the ground in the real airplane (ask me how I know and how hard of a mess it is to clean upā¦), but I digress - That said, to add to what @SlizgajPieroga said, Iāve also seen this issue in another aircraft (the SF50 specifically). However, since you mention anti-ice, itās that time of year when it might be worth revisiting this post I wrote a couple of years ago about C208 anti-ice systems.
Nice, thanks! I have few questions:
1.) after turning on PRIMARY, pumps run and what is getting cover by fluid?
2.) Do i have to turn on PRIMARY before using MAX FLOW AIRFRAME/WINDSHIELD? I mean does PRIMARY is something like ON button and after that i choose where fluid go, to airframe or windshield by switching middle one?
The primary switch is turning the system on and pumping fluid to the airframe via the leading edge TKS panels. This switch sets the mode. Normal is intermittent pumps, high is a single continuous pump. If you want more than what high provides you use the max switch.
