I never understand threads like these. Or the ones you see on Facebook groups showing an Airbus landing at a small airport and people say stuff like “I knew it would be bad having Xbox players”. As if you didn’t see people doing 747 air shows when it was only on PC. The Sim is whatever you make of it. If you want to be very serious with it, do that. If you want to do barrel rolls in your 747, do that.

That’s not the point, the question is what is Microsoft’s priority with MSFS? If it’s gaming then will those expecting a more realistic and serious simulation have to wait years for basic core functionality to be implemented?

88 posts about trying to label people and MSFS as one thing or another. Pointless. It’s a [insert whatever label takes your fancy] for all. Get over it.

I own an XBox. I use it to play golf and cricket games mainly.
I don’t own a VR headset yet, but would be keen to move to it at some point. From what I read on these forums (I have no first hand experience) VR does not yet perform at the level I would expect it in MSFS so I’m waiting until I’m confident it does before I drop a couple of grand on new equipment.
If it so happened (which it won’t because the task appears beyond Assobo) that the best performing platform in VR was XBox, I would rush out and purchase a Series X and all the peripherals to make it realistic.
It’s the user experience that I care about, not which box/ console facilitates it.

How credible is this really? What are you trying to “save” and from whom? What really do you think the threat is? Even if the threat IS real and comes to fruition, why would you be any worse off than where you were a little over 365 days ago?

Maybe you should find out about what these xbox apps actually are rather than assuming that because they are xbox apps they are “bad things”. You might find what I posted elsewhere helpful - which of these best describes you?
2. I don’t want to install this xbox app thing because (delete any that are not applicable):
- I’m worried about bloatware even though I’ve no idea what this app is or does
- I’m worried it will infect my PC and turn it into an xbox
- I just don’t like the fact it has xbox in the title and so it must be a bad thing because obviously the xbox is a bad thing and can never be used for simming anything really and is just for children and gamers not elite simmers like me
- It’s all part of the xbox take over conspiracy and they are dumbing my personal sim down so that I’ll somehow bin my pc and buy an xbox
- I’d never have bought the sim in the first place if I’d known they were going to make me install this terrible app (that I’ve never used and have no idea what it does)
- I don’t know, it just seems like I should whine because I’ve got an extra step in this install thing that I’ve only just found out about that will take me less than a minute and enable my sim to be updated, which is totally outrageous
