I know that this might be a huge ask and a hard undertaking but would it be possible to have some of the classic aircraft from the RAF and RCAF included to all platforms, such as the Chipmunk, Harvard, Mosquito, Lancaster, Halifax, and some of the many others from the AVRO company.
A great addition to this would be a version of the Silver Dart.
As I mentioned it may be a huge ask because of how hard it may be to get audio and blueprints or scans of the aircraft.
One of the T-6s from the Reno collection (Gunslinger) is a Harvard with RCAF markings. Here’s a photo I took of the real plane when I was at the Reno Air Races last September:
Well, I agree we do need more. But we’re off to a good start. Admittedly the Asobo T6 is a Texan, but suitably re-painted it is a great substitute for the Harvard so far. Take a look at these screenshots I just did over CYHM.
And for a bit more Canadiana… Here’s “46” over my work-in-progress transformation of CYBR (Brandon), from its modern state back into its World War 2 heyday.
Oh nice, I will have to look at investing in the reno add on to get all those I will admit I likely won’t do the races but I will enjoy the aircraft for the normal flights.
Hoping for a Wellington and a Fleet Finch. Golden Age Simulations did a really nice Finch for FSX/P3D. (My great uncle flew those in WW2 for the RCAF.)
There are some great RCAF and CAF paints for the SSW F-104 on MSFS.
Sadly, Golden Age also got scared off from MSFS when people complained about their first port over. But, I converted my old FSX Fleet Finch purchase into a static for personal use in MSFS…
The “46” repaint is a third-party addon to the Reno aircraft. Honestly not sure if XBox supports repaints yet. Someone correct me if I am wrong, my own experience is strictly PC.
Ah, I tried, but the converter borked the flight model and instruments so much it wasn’t a good experience. The good news is that GAS has said they’re going to reconsider MSFS in the future.
Most of the aircraft I have tried to convert suffer from the same situation. But, as statics, I can add them into my own home made sceneries as I get to grips with scenery design. They do not need to fly then! Of course, they would have to be removed if I ever shared those scenery projects.
I am hoping against hope that, once A2A are properly on board, that they offer us their T6 which is absolutely awesome and my ‘go to’ aircraft in FSX. I am considering the Chippie but it is a tad expensive and I have to choose between that and the Hawk T1. I understand that there is a Beaver on the way but I would just love to see the Caribou as well.
