If you follow the above it will be off.
Essentially make sure all things like taxi ribbons and guides are off in settings. Sounds like taxi ribbons has a bug for free flight and enables all.
Set a key bind for the career mode and you can turn them off there. Works like a charm.

This do the trick of removing the glide path but it is not for sure the way or the solution to this. I would like to have the option of taxi ribbons and not the glide path.. something very basic

It seems to be bound to the taxi ribbon instead. If I turn that off then the gates disappear.

For me if i turn on taxi ribbon, i also get the flight path gates at the same time. Its like they are bound together somehow.
Yeah if you do that in the options screen it is a bug and they are aware of it. All or none.
What some of us were having issues with was that in career mode it is a separate function and keybind for visual assistance.

For me, on xbox, free flight is fine, only occurs on career
for me, on pc, whatever settings I do for taxi ribbon etc, I always have flight path, taxi ribbon, waypoint markers…
Well it seems to be a little random, sometimes they can be disables, sometimes not?

So i flew tonight and it was working normally. Taxi ribbon only, No flight path gates. Another hickup gone?
On xbox to turn off the gates in career mode HOLD LB and push in the LEFT ANALOGUE STICK
This is for you then:
The problem i am having is that no matter what, on or off you get the taxi ribbon and the flight path gates at the the same time. Its like the 2 are coupled together. All i want is the Taxi Ribbon to show. This is in Free Flight.

Hmm… I didn’t have that issue.
I had turned off all instances of assistance in every area of the settings that I could find.
I know, for certain, that in free flight I had neither and I had a switch set on my bravo to turn the taxi ribbon on/off, as needed, without turning on the sky gates.
I’d mess about with this for you right now, but I returned 2024 and don’t have it any longer.
I am seeing this issue, as described, in Free Flight.
I have also found a probably related issue: It is not possible to show the Flight path and NOT the Taxi Ribbon.
Turning Flight Path ON and Taxi Ribbon OFF will result is neither being displayed (Free Flight).

- Start Career mission with Cessna 172 (eg. Flightseeing mission)
- In mid flight, pause the game and go to Settings
- Go to Assistance → Visual Assistance → Flight Path
- Disable Flight Path
- Save and resume flight
- Flight Path blue rectangular gates are still visible

Have you tried turning off taxi ribbon in the settings? This got rid of those gates for me.
