I can’t understand how a developer like Captain Sim could make this for MSFS
Race to the Xbox bottom?
love the virtual cabin, Ill just keep it parked and use it as my own crashpad. saves having to share bunkbeds with other crew at some crummy joint in Newark
I am not kidding. I fly their new 737-300 in P3D ALL the time. It’s lovely! I have no issues with that aircraft. The 757 sometimes has the tendency to overspeed and they sometimes have issues on ILS capture with the 767. But for the most part, those aircraft are very enjoyable. I don’t regret having them. It’s also the ONLY 757 and 767 for P3D, so… unless PMDG decides to do them, CS pretty much is your go-to. And yes, the aircraft I enjoy, I tend to fly a LOT beyond the initial “review”… ![]()
My theory after their release of the P3D 777 and then 767 is that they can’t keep up with the speed of development of new techniques and now sims. Their 737-200 already lacked a believable flight model while the cockpit was still good. The 757 has never been really “finished”, its flight model is simply wrong and the 767 was basically just a copy with a new 3D model. I can’t say if they simply don’t have the skill or if they are too lazy but I AM sure that they have noticed that you can sell just anything to today’s flight simmers, as long as you give a few keywords like “FMS”, or “study level”. Not even screenshots of obviously wrong details keep them from paying almost any price so why should they take any effort in making a good job? Easy money, it’s online, there is no real contact to your customers, who cares the reputation? It’s known, it’s been known for years, and still it works the same way every time they release something. People run for it without a second thought. “It’s a 777 so I need it.” When I think of the reaction when Blackbox dared to ask for 25$ for their Birddog…
I even think that the people who wrote about Bredok3D above are a little mistaken. The Bredok3D has done much more honestly. Even though they have insufficient systems and a visual cockpit quality, they have everything of their own, they did everything themselves and from scratch. And at the same time, the price is two times lower.
And Captainsim just ported the model and did not even fix such noticeable things as engines and 747 inscriptions from default.
I wouldn’t go so far as saying they’ve done everything on their own. Their 737 cockpit is mostly just a frankenstein of a 747 and 787 with some airbus knobs in there for good measure, not to mention the controversy of the exterior model.
From CaptainSim’s Forum:
All that can easily be fixed will be fixed.
Feel free to post such items in the wish list and/or bug tracking sections.
Also, their response to me on Facebook:
Advanced systems programing takes years and that 777 could cost $100+.
and
What you have here is not 10% of $100 product, but 100% of a $29 product.
So, it’s easy to deduce that they are NOT planning to make this much better. I am off to try to fly the thing. Still a bit heartbroken about this.
I was having a nightmare that PMDG’s new DC-6 is gonna be released as a default A320 with a new cockpit. Ha!
Help us PMDG, you’re our only hope.
Captain Sim need not only be ashamed of the product itself but for being the first of the big boys to stoop to this level. Hopefully the other developers see this as a massive mistake instead of a profitable trend.
Yeah, 29$ 3D model exterior, cockpit and cabin, Ha!!
Not bad,lol…
How about performance? FPs, stutters, etc..?
Sitting inside a two engine plane, while looking at instruments that show four engines. Ummm a bit of an immersion killer. What a shameless money grab.
exactly, we should not allow other developers to do the same to earn easy money
Oof, big yikes
Ouch, thanks a lot for the heads up, guess I now know all there is to know about this developer.
I would imagine it’s going to be the same as the Asobo 747, but it’d be interesting to know if they’ve managed to optimize it better. i’d pay to have less stutters at this point.
Flying this now. It’s a default 747, complete with 4 engine readings on lower center. Wing flex DOES NOT work, unlike they claim on their website. I removed Salty’s mod, displays are fine now. Also, unless something went catastrophically wrong, there are no sounds… or at least they are so quiet, you can’t hear them. Flying in silence except for ATC. Total immersion killer.
Everyone has different likes and dislikes so nothing against those who purchase CS products. I am speaking only for me personally in saying I would not even accept any CS product as a gift. To me they are way down low on the scale, the planes look sort of ok on the outside but the feel good factor ends there shall we say in politeness. Yes I purchased a couple of planes in the distant past but now it’s a product I would not touch with someone elses barge pole.
Pure GARRRRRBAGE!
Oh my god! Seems like uses all the screens of the default 747 including the fuel tanks diagram on the lower EICAS. This is ridiculus.
What we have here is default 747 systems slapped into 777 external model. And they justify this price tag for selling 90% of Asobo’s default aircraft? Some of these spoiled developers need to retire. It is time for some fresh blood like FBW and WT.
