Captain Sim releases 777ER for MSFS

FBW is definitely the way to go

I say we mark @BostonJeremy77 review as a solution to this thread so others don’t get tricked into buying this.

I’m so tired of ■■■■■■/undone airliners getting into the sim. Either build it correctly and accurately, or don’t put it into MSFS 2020. My 2 cents.

Sigh.

  • Verified that environmental sounds (wind, etc) work
But the only thing you hear even on the outside IS wind and a very soft hum of the engines. On the inside, you don’t hear ANYTHING. Not even during takeoff.

  • Trails don’t work, as you see in the screenshot.

  • Half the cockpit is inop. Seatbelt switch doesn’t work even though there is a cursor.

This aircraft is JUNK, pure and simple. Stay away. Not buying any more of their P3D products either, simply because I don’t want to support them anymore AT ALL. Even though they just announced a bunch of 767 and 737 expansions. They can go pound it.

I am done with this “review”. I have seen enough. This goes straight into the hangar where it will stay indefinitely, UNFORTUNATELY. I REALLY wanted this to be at least decent, but this is a straight money grab.

Phew. I’d literally hit the Buy button and then I thought “wait, I’d better see what folks on the forum think
” I could live with the 747-based systems (1) if they worked, and (2) if the visuals and flight model were up to MSFS standards. But doesn’t look like that’s the case.

Purchase aborted.

Maybe edit your title of your post, as “buyer beware”?

Thank you for your review guy!!
It’s time to advise to the MSFS community before they put their money on this piece of ■■■■■

Yeah, RIGHT NOW for airliners it’s FBW’s 320 and CRJ. For everything else, I am flying P3D. I just can’t be bothered to fly these half-■■■■■ airliners currently in MSFS. Not after you fly PMDG and FSLabs. And my scenery in P3D looks decent enough to put up with it. But the airliners are SO satisfying (including Captain Sim’s stuff, which is why I am just absolutely dismayed by this BS they pulled with MSFS)

First they dismiss MSFS as a game and not a real sim
But I wish they’d just leave it there, to be honest. If they don’t take MSFS seriously, fair enough. Don’t make garbage for it too and lower the bar yet again. Just make P3D stuff as you already do! I DON’T UNDERSTAND. Who at CS is so awful that signed off on putting this out? I was SO impressed with their 737-300 that I went out and got the rest of their airliners. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth and even when flying their GOOD stuff in P3D, I will be thinking of THIS mess.

Done. Buyer Beware it is.

Thankyou for your sacrifice so that the rest of us won’t end up wasting our money.

Yeah, actually FBW A320 and aerosoft CRJ are the only airliners I fly in MSFS.
I was so happy when I saw your post about the B777 release, but for now I will continue flying A320 and CRJ.
Thanks for your post about the release.
Regards.

Then there are apologists like Chock. (Sorry, gotta call him out)
“Oh, for 20 quid, what do you get? There are only 47 people on AVSIM that want to press buttons all day, etc
This is fun while you wait for more complex stuff, etc
For this price, it’s not bad, cause it looks good, etc” That same cat was justifying MScenery’s stuff as “well, I don’t recommend it in THIS state and I hope the developer improves this, but if you are interested in history of military aircraft, this is a decent buy at 15 quid
” Just
 NO.

With that attitude, THIS is where things will stay for MSFS. The more we give these idiots a pass, the more we justify shameless money grabs, the more of this JUNK will make its way to MSFS. And then it WILL be written off as a sim where only garbage is available. People like Bredok, MScenery, and now Captain Sim are contributing to the fact that the vast majority of aircraft released for MSFS is GARBAGE. There is no other way of putting it. I bought this without asking any questions because I own all their stuff in P3D and it’s WORLDS apart. And the more apologists come out in defense of stuff like this, the more Frankenstein ■■■■ we are gonna get in MSFS. Take a stand and don’t buy.

Yeah the same, I so want a boeing

I was so excited about this thread, fired up the computer while reading this. Shut down the computer and went on.

May as well download a port from FSX on flightsim.to

Sadly, a lot of people actually believe that CS has any type of integrity when it comes to delivering on promises (well
they never call them promises, and for good reason).

Their ONLY goal is to release something that is flashy and will get a bunch of initial sales, then abandon the project when the next flashy plane is ready to push out.
This has been their pattern since they started, and it never has changed
nor will it EVER change!

The 767 development was going along nicely as you recall, then the updates stopped for a while, and when asked about the GE engine and F model
IF they answered, it was vague and not reliable, then the “Hope to release it in 2021” comment comes out and they left it at that. !

We now all know the reason the 767 development stopped dead in the water was because they were working on the FSX 737 Classic they ported from FSX
put some flashy things on it and popped it out at $60! And its not even a beta yet
just a “preview” LOL
and people BOUGHT IT!!! AGAIN!!! (even with its 737-200 wings they didn’t even bother to model to the -300 dimensions)

Then there is no apparent updates to the 737-300 for a while
and NOW WE KNOW WHY
they were busy getting the FSX 777 model ported to MSFS to grab a fast buck!

This is so typical of them! And when they see that they will make a ton of money on the 777 port over to MSFS
you can bet they will drop ALL other dev work and get busy porting over ALL their FSX models to MSFS! Just watch and see!

I think if you’ll see any updates to the 767 this year (like they implied), it will cost way more than it should
I’m thinking they’ll charge $40+ just to add a cargo door to the F
NO extra coding that is unique to the F model at all, they’ll just be cutting a hole in the model and do some animations. No tweaks to the FDE, weights, Freighter-specific coding
none of that, guaranteed.

Anyone that still buys from these con artists has my sympathy. I stopped buying from them years ago and try to convince others that they should stop buying from them also
they are just rewarding bad business practices of a horrible dev.

But they’ll keep buying, because they’ll continue to believe that CS will ever completely finish a model and support it after the next flashy airplane is released. !

I hope you simmers who were conned into the 767 “family” with expectations that the F was coming “soon”
eventually get your 767F.
But I suspect it won’t be in 2021 like CS implies
and if they don’t deliver it in 2021, their excuse will be just like every time before “We never “promised” we’d have it done in 2021”
sigh. Continuous circle that never ends with CS planes
just ask the owners of the P3d (FSX port) 777 customers STILL waiting for their fixes and updates
after how many years? (It will never happen of course
long-since abandoned by CS)

I found this very ironic
In a post from their forums linked below
they stated that they were done with the 777 in 2019, much to the anger of all the 777 customers they left hanging
now we can see that they essentially slapped them in the face (again) by taking their FSX model of the 777 and porting it to MSFS, rather than spend time making it compatible with P3DV5
which most folks are on now
rendering their 777 P3D purchase useless. How much was that thing again? Sigh.

Considering Aerosoft custom built the CRJ which is high quality and excellent all around, and did all of it’s systems custom and priced it at $50, I’d say CS is full of ■■■■! Thanks for the review and hopefully others will steer clear of this garbage.

Thanks a lot for the review. Indeed is a complete junk, they took the chance of airliners void and released a complete junk. The issue is, many of hate going back to P3D to fly airliners and thus a joke developer like CS took the chance people like us that are willing to pay whatever price for fill the void.
Let’s spread the word in social media and make other fellow MSFS simmers aware of this junk and give CS a lesson of their life.

The only hook MSFS has at the moment is the scenery. Please dont get me wrong here the CRJ/CJ4/A32NX are all beyond amazing but more complete aircraft exists (at the moment) if you can live without the scenery in other sims, Its sad but I feel like this is going to be what it is with MSFS.

I mean WT have said everything exists to make a study level aircraft, but yet it seems only WT / A32NX can do it, are other dev’s simply not willing or unable to get up to speed? I feel like the secrete sauce is very secrete. According to your post AVSIM the most vocal seems to think that most simmers want to fly a 747 inverted under the golden gate bridge (Although its clear to see, like many others they shill to keep their you tube money coming in) but I just dont know what to think anymore! maybe he is right, maybe I will just have to stick XP11+ for true simulation, that’s sad but what can I do.

I dont get why they said on their facebook to you that a 777 could take years? they have done it already? Ok they cant just copy and paste the code, but it cant take years!

Like the USR/USER waypoints bugs need fixing so dam quick, it affects the A32NX so badly, I know they are doing their own thing, but really the sim should not be doing this. As I have said before the bar is kept low or is not helped to get higher by Asobo not fixing this stuff. I dont know, I find it all sad really. So much potential seems to be going to waste.

it’s FANTASTIC,
besides stealing your money they also make fun of you
 :+1:
but when is it that Asobo chases these people away???

By that logic the 777 should only cost $10. Or else you should have 29% of a $100 product which according to the posts it is not.

I feel at this point it makes more sense to resort to the freeware developers. They may not release their planes as ‘study-level’ but they are enthusiastic enough to keep working on those planes until it’s close. FBW is just one example.
