Carenado 182RG

Noticing a bug, if I start up the aircraft from cold and dark the GNS 530, KX-155, KAP-140, and Transponder all don’t work even when I cycle the battery repeatedly, however it’s fine if I start on the runway, even if I fully turn the plane off and turn it back on. Hopefully we can get a bugfix on this.
Edit: Nevermind the Avionics Master switches are just in out of the way areas and aren’t immediately obvious like on some other aircraft

I’m noticing a different bug on MSFS 2024 - I can’t seem to click the “Enter” button on the GNS 530. The other buttons all seem to work. I’ve tried clicking on it with the mouse and hitting “Enter” on the keyboard, neither seems to do anything. Anyone else experiencing this?

Give us a chance, we’re still trying to get into the sim!

Update - the EFB will load the flight plan into the 182RG’s avionics, and fly fine as long as you stick to that plan exactly. But you can’t make any changes on the fly, since you can’t hit the “Enter” button. I’ve written Carenado directly about this - hopefully they’ll be able to fix it. Something else I noticed on my last flight with the plane was that it now seems to be slower. 23 inches and 2300 RPM used to get me almost 150 knots, but my last flight only did about 135. I wonder if that’s more or less representative of the real airplane?

In 2024:

  • AP stays black. It does something, but without the display it is difficult to know what.
  • Fuel, Cyl.Head, OilTemp and OilPress gauges needles change between visible and invisible, this depends on the viewing angle.
  • The aircraft feels much heavier in the air than in 2020

I had 3 axes controlling the following LVars:

PASSENGER_Cabin_Air_1
PASSENGER_Cabin_Heat_1
DEICE_Windshield_1

All 3 LVars do not exist for the C182RG in 2024 anymore.

Well, the AP seems to work properly except showing a black display. At least all my external buttons work as expected including an ILS approach I just did.

In certain lighting conditions you can make out the digits displaying in the autopilot panel……very dim. Just noticed this myself.

This seems to be a theme. There’s other aircraft with this issue too, as well as needles appearing and disappearing based on angle as kaha300d listed above.

Yeah, so far I’ve found various displays extremely dark on the 182RG, Bonanza V35 & a third Marketplace plane that I don’t remember. I’ve only flown in VR but I have to practically put my face against the instrument to see the letters/writing.

Haven’t tried the 182rg yet but jealous your V35 is showing up/useable. Mine shows in my library but “not installed”.
Oh well, I’ll give each a couple patterns today in 2020.

That’s odd! My v35 came in day one. Well, the first day that market place items were available. I’m still missing a LOT of them though. I wonder if people who bought Aviators got them all…

It does seem like every other time I start FS2024 I get a message telling me to restart Flight Simulator to finish installing my added aircraft. To be onest though, I cant say I’ve seen any difference in my available planes though. I haven’t bothered counting them either though. It’s much harder in FS2024 to tell how many & what planes I have. At least my hangar in FS2020 tells me I have 156 planes

In MSFS2020 there was an update for the Carenado 182RG II to version 1.0.3 in the Marketplace. Since then the registration is missing in the exterior view! It is still present in the interior. Can anyone confirm this or is the bug only occurring for me?

I still see the registration on the exterior. I don’t know about the update though, but my 182’s updated yesterday, but the list of fixes is dated from 2023.

It also updated in fs2020 and since then, I have bugs with it there

I have provided a workaround here
