I could never help but think that when designing this aircraft somebody had half a fuselage, a bathtub and some tails and wings lying around and just welded them all together
Itās easy you just turn on the autopilot and hit the nav button.
Iāve just found the well hidden documentation files that come with the 337.
For steam users, they are located:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\carenado-aircraft-c337-skymaster\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado_C337_Skymaster\Documentation
On the discussed subject of delaying the landing gear retraction, the included POH just states ālanding gear and wing flaps - retract once obsticles are clearedā
If you have oodles of power you can pull the gear up right as you break contact with the runway I suppose. The issue with the 337 has always been the available power. For a twin, itās actually pretty slow to gain speed after rotation. The critical one is making certain youāve got Vmc prior to retracting gear or raising flaps. The aircraft is even placarded against single-engine takeoffs; an after-the-fact AW directive by the FAA.
We had one go down a few years ago at my āhomeā strip⦠it shook us pretty badly. The crash scene was a messā¦
Thank you for mentioning that! I also donāt really like green tint and was hoping someone would come out with a āclear glassā mod for it. I will go and fly some of the other liveries to find one with āau naturelā colours.
I agree; CVT stands for convert, so thereās something in the Skymaster thatās ported over and not converted properly to MSFS format.
Do you have the Avionics on? If not, the window will not show. Also if you by accident switched the ATC Window of in the Toolbar options.
What errors are you encountering? You have to be logged in on the same account on XBOX App and MS Store and it should work.
Fully agree with your points. I have Carenado products (almost all of them since FS 2004 and enjoyed them through all these years on pretty much all sim platforms. Some are better than others, but one needs to realize is that they are the ones who have taken the time to create all these beautiful models no other developer has taken on at payware level. Who else has made an effort to produce models like Aero Commander Shrike 500 or Turbo Commander 690, or Cessna 421, 206, 210, 182RG, 177, Piper Navajo , Falcon Jet ⦠and the list goes on?
Those are projects that are announced and eventually make it to the sim. How many developers announce stuff that never make it. Look at Milviz for example with their Mu-2 and C130J that looked promising at one point, but then vanished.
I personally feel greatful we all have Carenado
I think you are right, it could be a problem of taste. The sound could be peasant to some, because reminds them of a drag car as I read, but when it comes to simulation, I am one of those who prefers something as close as possible to the real thing . It is particularly true with the exterior sound.
Interior sound may be OK at idle, but at medium to high power, does not sound the same.
I still love the model and feel extremely greatful, so please donāt get me wrong.
Yep⦠I second that⦠Iām very grateful for all of the Carenado aircraft over the years, and for third-party developers in general. Some of those developers - FSD-International and Eaglesoft to name two good ones - are not producing models these days.
Hats off to the ones who have hung in there during the decade-plus ādroughtā and welcome to the new developers too. Like Willie Nelson sings, āBlue Skies, smiling at me. Nothing but Blue Skies, do I see.ā
As noted above, the weather radar is an Asobo issue. They plan on fixing it in SU8 per the latest dev update.
The only problem I have with the sound is⦠itās REALLY loud in the external view. Like, Aeroplane Heaven-level loud.
Just says down loading then nothing happens.
Haā¦was going to post the same thing. Itās absolutely deafening in external view. Needs to be turned down about 50%.
I dunno man - I think when the olā mixmaster starts ripping on take-off and at best climb speed - you should feel it. We had one parked on the ramp near our Cherokee at KSEE and it didnāt sound like any other plane on the field when it started its TO roll
After you have paid? If it is stuck at that state, I recommend to open ticket, this will otherwise probably never solve itself.
The Skymaster has a unique sound. Once youāve heard one a few times, you can identify one when it is flying over your house.
So far Iām enjoying it although itās not configured for VR. The pilot position is too far away from the panel. As well, cockpit zoom doesnāt work. Iāve always configured my pilots position in the camera.cfg file but I donāt see how to do it on this one. Can anyone help on how to configure it?
Please implement the cockpit zoom for VR users Carenado. Thanks
I have been waiting for this one with great anticipation. Yes the visuals are great but really? The sound scheme Carenado came up with disappoints. Yes if you have never flown the real thing you would have no reference and therefore reading the comments above everyone seems to like it. But having flown many hours in the real 337, this sounds nothing like the real thing. It seems Carenado threw together sounds from the Seminole, 182 for internals and somewhere got hold of a 210 for externals. The 337 has a very distinct sound profile and this simply does not capture that. Really disappointed in this aspects of the module. I can only hope Carenado will update this or a clever modder will fix this.
