Still no Night Flier paint yet?
In the Cameras, cfg look for the PilotVr and change xyz there.
Its still makes engine sounds inside after you shut it down at an airportâŚ. but it flies nice, and does well on ILS glide-slope captures
Fun planeâŚ
For you pilots that are unhappy with the default head position, if youâre comfortable editing the Cameras file, just get in there and search for PilotVR (thats for VR users.. The rest of you just edit [CAMERADEFINITION.0] ) Then
BACK UP YOUR FILE BEFORE EDITING - If youâre not sure what youâre doing DONâT mess with it⌠Not my problem if you mess up your files.
For VR users, Replace the InitialXyz entry with thisâŚ
InitialXyz = -0.3, 0.67, 0.40
That feels like a pretty natural seating position and the way I fit into most Real world Cessnas. For those who donât know, the second value there (0.67) is your height, and the last number (0.40) is how close you are to the dash.
For height, larger number is taller.
for position forward or rear (closeness to dash) the bigger values are more forward⌠closer.
I found for that forward/rear value, anything between 0.35 and 0.40 was pretty good.
You can make similar edits to the NON VR view point at the top of the file in [CAMERADEFINITION.0] IN that part of the file, you probably wouldnât want to set the last value above 0.35, as when not in VR that feels a little tight.
Anyhow, hope that helps some of you that are frustrated with not being able to save the view points.
Two (really) minor issues:
- In cold and dark cockpit the AP Mode selector switches remain active.
- To close the tablet clicking the home button does nothing. You need to click the home button once and then click somewhere else outside the tablet.
I love this aircraft!
Thanks that fixed it. FYI for anyone looking to modify it, the coordinates are different than standard. Xyz is lateral, vertical, longitude.
I changed longitude to 0.35 to get me a little closer to instrument panel. This might help some of you VRers.
Make sure to NOT run MSFS as an administrator. Marketplace doesnt work when you do.
The fuel flow bug should be fixed. I have tested the fuel flow on the Carenado Seneca and it functions FLAWLESS
Carenado adds so much attention to detail and realism: When the mixture levers are cut-off there is no fuel-flow on a switched off engine, and when the mixture levers are set to rich there is fuel-flow on a switched off engines when the fuel pumps are running and the throttle is pulled forward.
Now THAT`s what I call a cockpit!
Lovely plane absolute lovely!
And just like the Seneca it also offers two cockpit colours, dark shiny grey with light instrument board and leather-brown with black instrument board. Fantastic.
Has the Carenado Seminola also two different cockpit colours to choose from?
Itâs going to be very tricky to paint, this one.
I bought it with some nice paintschemes in mind, including something similar to this, but it just isnât going to happen, for me anyway.
That´s why there are long and good Creepy Pastas and YouTube audiobooks to listen too while taking care of all the cockpit details in the cockpit overhaul
Before: The little LEDs (or lightbulbs) had some fake 3D effect that looked wrong from specific angles:
After: The little LEDs now are both in the same direction.
And of course just like in the Carenado Mooney M20 - the EDM gauge corrected.
Before the EDM label is halfway buried into the gauge frame.
Bugfixed texture.
The iconic Night Flier livery will get started after these little cockpit details are fixed.
This airplane also has a fully functional door entry light⌠Awesome.
I already love the superb feeling of realism and truly-sitting-inside-my-new-ride.
Oh and my suction gauge texture looks really good, way better than the original - maybe I should send it to Carenado so they can implement the texture in the next patch. The EDM gauge still needs some fixes to do.

Now some more screenshots of this perfect airplane:
These cables and tubes are absolutely awesome! Very detailled.
This was the first thing I did before I even took my first flight on release day. You came up with the same numbers as me except I went with .65 instead of .67 so Iâll give .67 a try anyhow.
Really hesitating between this and the Twin Otter now. The latter will probably be of higher quality, but I usually lean towards smaller aircraft and this just looks lovely.
Itâs all down to your seated height. Use whatever looks correct for you.
I donât know why all devs (and Asobo) think all pilots are 7 years old and canât see over the dash. Its been true for as long as there has been flight simulator. Even devs who have real world experience use this weird head position for sim. And its not just in MS versions, its in lots of sims.
They also always set the head position way to far back because when they model the planes the seats are rolled all the way back for access, but nobody really flies from that position. SO they set the head position relative to the seat back, and its 15 inches too far aft.
Yes! This drives me crazy. Iâve only flown a small number of planes, but one of them was at 14 years old, a Mooney Ranger, and I could even see over the dash of that one at that age. Iâm not a basketball player by any means, Iâm 5â10 and back then probably much shorter. I suspect Asobo and others are going off of the idea of âcapture as much of the essential panel as possible in the camera viewâ but Iâd much rather the main view be natural.
I was a bit too quick it seems, itâs not that difficult:

Yes! This is the exact one I was hoping for⌠made known to me by a model kit with the same livery
Jankees, you are GREAT!!!
