Cessna 172 Reims Rocket / Hawk XP II (freeware)

It definetely would, although I would love to have regular wheels possibly with fairings and a 172M styled yoke:) For now the 172 bushkit is the closest so I will have some fun with that!

Has anyone noticed the GPS’s not working after latest MSFS20 update? They show the Garming loading page when turning the avionics on, and then the screens go black

G430 is ok for me
PMS750 too
KLN90B ok too

The TDS750 stay black but in my dev environment, I don’t have a lot of mods, I may be missing one for the TDS

EDIT: I do have loading errors in console for the TDS (at the middle of all the log noise)

WASM: Gauge GTNXI750U1 has no callback function in module vfs://tds-gtnxi-gauge/Gauge/TDSGTNXiGaugeModule.wasm

EDIT2: TDS is working correctly too. My first try was probably incomplete with the plane loaded through the SDK. So all GPS units are good for me

Mmm. I’ll keep testing then and revert if I identify the offending one. Thanks!

TDS750 is working ok too with my full mod environement.
I’m interested in your debug feedback.

Was it only the GPS (no problem with the “loading bug” and the yellow HSI) ?

Yes. The instruments work fine.

In fact, I noticed a couple days ago. I usually fly full VFR. I got lost and circled through the GPS during a flight and realized.

I though it could be liveries or the “cessna” gauges mod that I use some times but they were not

I’ve just started a thread about that : Cessna 172M

Let’s discuss the details !

Well, there has to be something on my end or a payware addon causing trouble. I updated KLN90 and the garmin screens are working although they take a few seconds to load (I remember them being quicker, but that could be just me). I’ll carry on with tests

Good to know, thanks for the feedback !

I was asked about the altimeter using only inHg and not HPa. I’ll probably change the gauge with this one I’m using on another project :

I have flown the Hawk XP in the real world, and it was fantastic! It was the Cadillac of Cessnas. The constant speed prop made it much quieter at cruise. The fuel injection made it better at higher altitude airports, too. It was pure flying enjoyment!

A truly great effort on this one, Bagolu!

I really enjoy flying this, and now with the Echo19 sound connected it’s even better.

Just a question. In MSFS 2024 the tablet in the right door does not seem to be available. I hovered all over it with my mouse, but no click spots appear. Is it still a work in progress for MSFS 2024?

I have no idea for the tablet… I don’t really know what they do with the legacy system.

I haven’t touched anything yet with the 2024 SDK. I’m still coding with 2020 process.

I’ll have a look at that for the Savannah first and then the C172 mods, but from what I’ve seen it’s way too complicated for me (and for a hobby)

I fully understand and agree 100%, especially the hobby part. :+1:
Thank you!

A bit later… I finaly tried with 2024 and it works fine

What was your issue exactly ?

Today’s update is including some fixes and new features :

  • a dual units airspeed gauge
  • a turn indicator with a much more visible ball
  • a primer lever that should have been there since the begining (*)
  • the checklist card does not flicker anymore from external view
  • etc

(*) MSFS does not seem to handle the primer usage at all. It’s cosmetic and for the sake of the checklists…

I have also updated the online map services available on the cardboard

UK Holo service is now blocking calls from MSFS (after France, Swiss, simvector…) That lets us with very few systems available. If you know services you would like to be added, post your suggestions : it has to be something mainly controlable with mouse.

Same thing for the available applications in the tablet : anything on your computer that can be reached through http could be added (as long as it does not crash MSFS like LNMP does  )

My issue was “operator headspace”!
I just checked it again and realized that I wasn’t clicking on the little activation button on the tablet in the right door pouch.
Works fine.
Thanks for your patience!

Ha cool !

There’s an easier clic spot : on the support (on the screen now : it used to be on the overhead before)

Is it possible to import flight plan into any of the freeware avionics options?

I understand in freeware gtn750 it’s locked. How about gns430? Pressing “send to avionics” in EFB doesn’t work. I’m using MSFS 2024.

You have opened the door to a sore point, for me at least.

As good as the EFB is, and of course it holds great potential for those who are already accustomed to using a tablet for their flight planning, etc. it is NOT for everybody OR every plane.

Even some of the default planes do not smoothly synchronize with the EFB. The same holds true for many 3rd party planes, whether pay or freeware, which is the essence of your question.

You can find lists on line or get them generated via AI, but…

For me, there are just way too many OTHER variables in this simulator that result in unpredictable and surprising results than to be messing around with the EFB.

For now, I am sticking with the World View and its more trustworthy outcomes for all of my flight planning.

My airplane is constantly pulliing to the right..Even with clear skies preset.
