not using developer mode

Brief description of the issue:

flight displays PFD, MFD & GTC always start out very dim or off, and brightness control knobs only bring them up to dim. Aircraft is nearly unusable! Problem started for me after SU8. Anyone else with this issue?

I have had the exact same problem. It has very dim unusable display panels no matter how you start your flight. This is my favorite airplane and it has been unusable for several months now. You can’t increase the brightness with the knobs enough to make it usable. Still very dim. It’s getting really discouraging.

I reported the problem to zendesk on 10 Mar 2022 after SU8. The response I received yesterday was to install SU9 patch 1.25.7.0; which I did and problem persists!
My setup – Lenovo Legion7; Win10, RTX 2080 Super Max-Q, i9-10980HK

Same issue here. Can’t fly the plane at night cause i can’t see the main instrument display, that combined with a CTD everytime I blindly take off from NZAA is making me lose the faith. Didn’t play for about a month because and came back wishfully after last updates and frustratingly nothing has changed. Aourus Master, 32gb, RTX3080, i910850k

Moderator Edit:
I can only confirm the problem of the previous speakers! The problem definitely started after Update 8. Not fixed yet. :frowning:Aircraft thus unusable to fly. Especially during the day - when the sun shines into the cockpit, you don’t see anything anymore. What a pity! If the alternatives to business jets are already extremely meagre, this “failure” hurts all the more. Strikingly, it is the only aircraft that has this bow.

I agree, the Citation Longitude was my favorite airplane to fly, and now it is virtually unusable, and there is a very narrow selection of business jets, and none with the range and performance of the Longitude. Welcome to the forum, I am new here too!

Today, after NVIDIA driver update, it looks Ok.

I updated my NVIDIA driver, but the problem persists! Not fixed in my system! %$#@%$@!

On March 10, 2022 I reported this problem to Zendesk via report #151779. I was told to try SU9 to see if the problem was fixed… it was not!

Today I received the following reply to my Zendesk report:

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We just want to confirm that this issue has been tracked in our internal bug tracker which is why we are going to close this report today. The issue will be addressed in an upcoming patch.

Perhaps there is hope that we will soon be able to fly the Citation Longitude once again?

Eeeeendlich!!! Nach den heutigen kleinen zwei Updates, scheint das Ganze wieder zu funktionieren. Danke an das Software-Team. Der Tag ist gerettet!

Sventec, you posted “Finally!!! After today’s two small updates, the whole thing seems to be working again. Thanks to the software team. The day is saved!”

Could you please share with us which updates you applied? Thank you in advance!

I had dim display problem in the Cessna Citation Longitude, found this and it fixed the problem; go to this forum for the fix, SU8: Longitude screens not bright, had to restart the program after performing the steps because it led to other problems.

Hey thanks for this tip! So for months now, all we had to do was select “Aircraft Systems” on either of the two center touch-screen controllers, and then select “Lighting Config” and adjust the lighting control which was added or changed by SU8??? Kinda disappointed in tech support on this one!!!

Garmin avionic display dims and will not brighten enough to view at day or night.

Here’s my post in another thread:

no, SwiftTugboat430, these settings don’t work on the PC version, maybe Xbox only, as you have reported. I have SU 11 on PC, MS store version, here the annoying issue persists. If you go to “Aircraft systems” / lighting config" settings, I can see, that the brightness setting is already at 100%, any further increase isn’t possible. The displays are extreme dim and dark, in sunlight you’ll see nothing, they are simply unusable.
I am surprised that this problem, which has been reported here for many months, has been ignored by Asobo until now. Asobo referred a few times to the next patch but nothing has changed so far.
Too bad, the C Longitude might become my favorite plane.

I do not have this issue with the Longitude display brightness, and I too run the PC version from the MS store. Also, on the panel to the left of the control you will find display brightness control knobs for the PFD/MFD that may help you with your problem.

The MFD and middle GTC dimmers are at the front of the pedestal. The PFD and left GTC is to the left of pilots control column.

Thank you, Sling380, your tip was the right one.
But I never would have guessed that the knob on top of the power pedestal labeled “MFD GTCs TRIM” controls the brightness of the central monitor. I only saw the word “TRIM” and then completely ignored that knob. Especially because there is a “STABILIZER PRIMARY TRIM” button just below that knob. But “TRIM” is not the same as “DIM”, which is obviously a fully wrong labelling on that brightness control knob.
Important: In order to be able to set full brightness with this so called “TRIM” knob, it must first be turned to completely “OFF” and then to the desired brightness.

Anyway, I’m happy to be able to fly the C Longitude now, thanks again.
