It’s great! Get it now!
Great that Cowansim seem to get better with every release. Just did my first flight in the R22 and really enjoyed it. The helicopter feels nimble and predictable. Perfect for exploring photogrammetry cities at roof top level and below ![]()
Well it took a sale until I could afford this.
And first impression was bad, that I should not have bought it, just all over the place and very nervous.
But after loading up my ”cowan” settings (-75% sense) it got ok.
But today after starting it up on my computer (xcloud but on cpu) instead with my xbox 360 controller it all just fell into place!
It was still very nervous antitorque, but set those to no -60 and no deadzone made it better.
And flown a lot with it now and I am really starting to fall in love with this R22 now!
Its fantastic to just go low level long banking turns in it! Its like the 222 before the first update ruined it.
Just took it to the track too! The hungaroring! And its was all photogrammetry! ![]()

I think you should all buy this on the sale now!
Its nice with a chopper without the turbin FM ■■■■ in it too.
Oh, should point out one bad thing, it does not like photogrammetry… its a lot of melted building sadly. But, love flying it anyway!
And up/down/left/right on cyclic is actually where us should be… imagine that…
Wasn’t like that for the month and a half it was out on MP before SU15. It’s not Cowan, it’s Asobo/SU15 “memory optimizations” fault.
This is what SU15 has reduced the Series X to. All these Cowan ships used to be just fine in SU14 with LOD and better draw distances. Now they are just too demanding on memory? Now it’s Just too resource intensive? They were fine. We need SU16 to restore what we had on Xbox. These “memory optimizations” are a joke.
This is really good. Folks shouldn’t sleep on it.
I just did a short flight with the R22 in MSFS2024, and it seemed to work just great!
@belatu42 posted a wonderful video doing sheep mustering with the R22, really shows off the great flight model.
I did nearly the same with buffalos on the runway in KVNC. Its really funny, because the animals are interacting…
How?! Mine isnt there.
Can you put it in manually on pc? I am on xbox.
I’m so glad they’ve paid attention Venice’s booming Buffalo population… It really is becoming a problem at VNC these days.
I bought it from Cowansim directly for PC and put it in the Community folder.
Does anyone who bought this R22 in FS20 marketplace have it available in FS24?
Many of my marketplace addons are available and enabled in FS24, the rest are marked as not available. But the Cowan sim R22 is completely missing.
When I search my library for Cowan I get the MD500 as expected but not the R22.
When I search for Robinson I get what appears to be a default Asobo R22, R44, and the R66. Only one of those is expected, I don’t believe that R22 or R44 are included. I do not not see the Cowansim R22 which I should see.
When I look in free flight there’s no R22 under helis, nor under any of the relevant search terms.
This is annoying because I miss flying the R22 and according to the Cowansim website it is compatible with FS24.
yes, no sign of the R22 for me either.
This is definitely something to report to the ms-store support.
Here maybe? Any moderators wanna jump in with a link?
The other 3 listed under base content, the Robinson R22, R44 & R66 are the static/traffic models you see around airports but not flyable.
It’s weird that my library lists individual static models and allows to turn them on and off. Seems like a bit of a management nightmare/overkill to list hundreds of those individually.
Hopefully we get updated 2024 versions of all cowans soon
Don’t worry, I lost the Cowansim 206L3 Longranger in my setup. I think a lot of people are missing things. Not sure why they show up for some, though.

@ragingwombat839 Did you ever find a solution to this? I am the same, yet the answer from my Xendesk ticket is-
We have received confirmation that these packages have not been carried over from 2020 to 2024. We understand the importance of backward compatibility to our users, and we are proceeding carefully, as our top priority is to provide you with the best simulation experience possible.
Which tells me nothing really.
All cowans except the R22 is in 2024 now.
Hopefully we can fly it soon
Cowansim mentioned on their discord that the R22 is the only CS product that hasn’t finished testing on MS/Asobo’s side. He doesn’t have any other info or timeframe on when it will be available in 2024 if purchased in the marketplace.
I would hope that we should see everything when the 2024 MP launches…
Its out on 2024 and updated on 2020.
Cant find it after activating it in 2024, anyone else having same problem?
And in 2020 it cant be started, just gives me varning I dont have something…
So very big fail it seems.
Can you guys fly it?
