Really? They are only showing AE, MasterCard and Visa credit card symbols in the cart view. Anyway that would be fantastic, will try it right now. Thanks!
Iāve bought it with Paypal on Orbxā¦
there is no option to pay via paypal on orbx
i bought mine via paypal using the orbx app. Maybe it couldnāt be used in the country you live
If I go to Orbx via a web page, in fact, I do not see a Paypal option.
I have Orbx central app installed on my PC, and in the app, I bought via Paypal.
Maybe is that the differenceā¦
I do not have such reflections (that I have in the Vans RV-8).
I managed to buy it, installed in external orbx lib and it works right away without any issues. Having a quick flight from Palma de Mallorca to Ibiza at sunet, doing some testing ![]()
Night lights look very good, engine sound is to die for.
Guys - any idea why the autopilot frequently disconnects? I am not touching any key/control - it just seems to like to disconnect every couple of minutes or so?
Iāve only bought add-ons through the marketplace up until now. I know those ones wonāt transfer if I switch from the gamepass version of 2024 to the Steam version. But will I be able to install stuff like this from the Orbx store or other third party stores to my gamepass version and a steam version if I transfer in the future?
Thanks
Not for me. Sounds strange. Maybe double check your key bindings. AP might be bound to the same key as something else you use frequently.
Edit: Ok sorry just now i realized you said you did not touch any keys.
The plane engine just shuts down for no apparent reason after moving the throttle forward and aft. Iām unable to restart. I thought it was just the Thrustmaster sidestick and quadrant that was attached but disconnected them with same result. Without touching anything else after clicking āReady to Flyā, moving the throttle kills the engine. Thoughts?
If youāre starting on the runway, thereās a couple of things:
- It needs some beans not to stall
- Moving the throttle forwards too fast can flood the engine and it stalls
- If you spawned with the throttle already forwards, as soon as you touch it itās the same āin the eyes of the planeā as moving it forwards fast, and it can stall. So make sure you have the throttle at idle before you start.
- Restarting (or starting) the engine, you need to hold the key on for a good few seconds and it doesnāt catch every time. Also need to make sure the mixture and throttle are in the correct positions for starting. Go through the checklist until you can do it

Not saying I really know what Iām doing but this is what Iāve found. Great great plane!!!
Would be nice if anybody could share settings for the toe brakes. Canāt find anything similar posted, so Iām obviously too stupid to get my brakes to work. Iām using Thrustmaster Pendular pedals in the Sim Update 1 Beta. Always use the default in sim settings for any aircraft with no problems. I tried the recommended Lvars in Spad.next, same result. My Spad settings:
I had some difficulties as well in the beginning. But you will find enough information in the checklists and manual to master it. Now that I know how to handle the engine, it is just awesome. So much character ![]()
I just wonder if the DA40 throttle irl is as strangely behaving as the throttle in the SIM. First 30% are super sensitive to minimal adjustments while the rest is more or less the complete opposite.
Does anyone know the reason why there are no wheel pants on this version?
Itās meant to represent the specific DA40 used by COWS in the real world. Since they are mostly (all?) in flight school, itās probably a school aircraft, and schools almost always take wheel pants off their planes because otherwise the students will just wreck them with hard landings.
That said, it would be really great to have an option to put them back on.
I donāt know about the āalmost alwaysā claim. All Diamonds at my flight school have wheel fairings.
To be honest I have never seen a flight school using the DA40 where I live (much too expensive). And never seen a DA40 without pants IRL.
Of course it makes sense to take them off in a flight school for basic training. On the other hand the DA40 is IFR capable and for IFR training I expect a student to know how to land without scraping the pants to shreds ![]()
At my local field all three schools are entirely pantsless (and the planes too).
It is curious not to include the option, though.
For the plane.
I am having two problems:
Starting - even using CTRL+E the plane will only start about 1 of every 3 tries. I have tried every trick I have found written or on YouTube about starting the plane and am unable to manually start it.
AutoPilot - the AP works fine but the plane will not climb based on VS with AP on, proper altitude set, and sufficient power to climb. I have tried FLC, Pitch, VS and none of those options cause the plane to climb.
For example - level flight at 1500ā/100 knots and full throttle with desired altitude of 3000ā and VS set at 500 fpm. Plane does not climb but speed does increase to 125 knots.
OR - same as above - set FLC for 95 knots with full throttle and plane does not climb.
The same with descent - I set a -VS but plane does not descend.
