Hi,

does anybody know if one can toggle wheelcovers ? It looks far better with them. The Asobo version has them. I studied the pdf but found nothing. Thanks a lot.

It’s not as simple as just toggling them on or off for a visual effect. They affect the aerodynamics which means different speeds etc.

I would like to have wheelcovers too. We have them on the DA40 at the aeroclub and it indeed makes it look much better.

No wheel pants at the moment and afaik COWS are not eager to implement them.

Finally I did buy the DA40 for MSFS2024 from the ORBX sale. But why does the XLS look like this. Missing files?

And most important: what to do?

lmao the timing of me opening the forums.

Just delete and download again.

This must be a world record. I posted question here and within 4 minutes MrTommymxr has solved it. I am amazed!!!

Just luck I was online. I was 2 seconds from closing the tab to start studying and I saw the popup.

Enjoy the plane, make sure to read the manuals and checklist.

If you would like to try out the latest Beta version and give feedback.

How do you improve on perfection?

I’ve had my first flights with the 40, mainly with the NG. I am starting cold and dark, and using the default checklist of the EFB. Almost everything works like a charm. Only thing I don’t get is the warning message ā€ECU A FAILā€. What is the problem and what I should do differently?

When do you get the warning?

The warning is on already before the take off and stays there for the whole flight.

This is a bug. It’s been reported on the Discord server.

Yeah, it’s weird.

  • ECU A is not on the backup battery.
  • The ECUs dont like being under 20V. I set the cutout at 18V to be sure.
  • With cold weather and a not fully charged battery, the voltage can drop below 18V during startup.

Looking and asking around, I haven’t found any reports of pilots getting ECU A fails on start-up.

I might just have to ask diamond directly about this situation, if its possible or not.

For the meantime, if the voltage is below 24V, reset the battery in the Engine page menu.

For the non Discord users.

Question: can the custom trim implementation be overridden?

I suggest there is such an implementation, since there is an option to set the trim rate. However it seems to interfere with my Logitech Flight Multi Panel, which has a neat trim wheel I really love to use. It works on the default Cessna.

Logitech products use spad right?
