Crash to desktop without error message

0xC0000005 is invalid access.. means the process is trying to read (or write) in pages of memory that are not flagged for read (or write) access. Usually happens with bad pointers (either null or pointing to dead objects).
The only case of “hardware issue” is when process goes out of memory.. considering the quality of the code, it is unlikely that most CTDs are caused by a failed allocation. Mine happens at 400MB usage with 32GB of ram

It’s just broken code, not broken user setups.

For me it was mainly mods. I assume the mods are not necessarily at fault, with the sim still being the issue as it runs the code?

Just to share and add my experience to others.
Since SU5 (ans hotfixes), I have CDT everytime I launch the sim.

  • Nothing at all in community folder.
  • No other apps launched (afterburner or asus or others…)

It happens even if I do not touch my pc after launching ! I start the sim, I don’t touch anything, after a short while, I’m in the main menu, still not touching anything, between 10 and 30 seconds, CDT.

If I try to launch a flight, I manage to do it but it crashes seconds or minutes after.

Impossible to play the game…

Is your GPU overclocked? If so, seems FS is struggling with OC

nothing is overclocked, everthing is stock.

Z390i asus
I7 9700k
Gigabyte rtx2080
32gb ram
nvme SSD

I had almost no issues for 1 year before SU5 with the same hardware.
W10 fresh install in june (for other reasons)

VCRUNTIME140.dll,

note: there is an existing topic for that with hints..

I have 64gb and it was fine before update. I had same problems after mmoving from alpha to beta last year in july. Took long time to become stable. I still suspect somehow my mb or gfx card compatibuiility or something.. I run at stock speeds, no overclock

i9 9900k, 2080ti

The SU5 performance boost certainly will put more demand on your hardware. In your shoes the first thing I’d do is remove 16GB of ram as the sim no longer needs it since the update. Test again and if still the same swap sticks. Take care that you are using the slot your MB maker recommends and try with and without XMP.

I’ll try with 1 stick.
I already tried without XMP by disabling it in my bios.

no

Don’t forget the commited memory. The app commits still up to 16GIG ( what I seen for now ). Thus the system have the rest for itself, caching, etc..

Unless it is bad ram XMP shouldn’t really be a problem. However there is a lot of fake brands out there so it’s hard to be certain.

interessting… which setting you currently have ? In case of “utra” do a test-case and lower these to e.g. “high”.

Yes but it will easily run on 16 and here run seems to be the problem

tried already all existing hints in forum related to that ?

e.g. : Any kind of “tweaking” tool running, eg. Process Lasso ?

it seems he own two 16gig sticks.. so, he lost dual channel

only msi afterburner and only for change gpu fans curvature

make a try and stop MSI A.. we know some versions of e.g. MSI A.. makes trouble ( more exact Riva ) .

More better just stop all tools you can stop

In case that will not help and you have installed sound tools like Asus Sonic/Radar , etc. : please check:

The latest Riva driver fixed a stutter and crackling for me.

The other thing I’ve seen forgotten is the US language pack which is essential to the sim
