ah.. LOL… my brain had a completly other reason in mind and not that user moved the game install folders (MS-Store). The question might then be: are the folder manuall moved or let he moved the install-folder per MS-Store.. If per MS-Store, it is a bug otherwise better no-words…
and yes.. steam installation doesnt have the symbolic links..
Same here since the latest update. Before the last update it worked quite well for me. Only a few ctd (acceptable). Now I tried every idea I had to fix it and it didn‘t help.
Reinstall and new download the whole game,
tried without any mods,
without navigraph,
tried to reinstall nvidia driver (newest),
tried to use a privious nvidia (driver),
monitored cpu gpu temp (all ok),
increase rollover cache (100gb),
deleted rollover cache,
changed grafics setting from ultra to high to low,
tried to switch off my 2. and 3. display
tried not to leave msfs2020 window
tried to underclock my ram from 3800ghz to 3600 to 3200
I think I even tried more options, nothing helped and I don‘t know what to do. Please fix it Asobo🙏

Hi, I’m interested if you find a solution to help jetmax products work with fs2020. I have a jetmax TQ which I tried to setup today with mixed success. It obviously needs some form of drivers that work with fs2020. Using the fs2020 calibration tools didn’t work. It recognised the axis but wouldn’t properly link to the sim. I’ll Let you know know if i find a solution.
Hey Guys since installing the last update my MSFS keeps crashing to the desktop as well, At first, it wouldn’t get past the initial loading screen, but I have since removed everything from the community folder and it will now get to load a flight but as soon as the flight starts or couple minutes into it, the sim freezes and crashes to desktop. I have now done a fresh install on the sim twice to no avail. Also note i have never had issues with the sim prior to the most recent update. P.S. My nvidia drivers are up to date as I just installed a new to me 1080ti
Specs are
i5 6600k
GTX1080ti
16GB Ram
Flight Sim installed on separate drive to my C: as I dont have enough room on the C:
I was able to get my Jetmax throttle quadrant working by using FSUIPC7 (you’ll need that eventually when Sim Avonics or PMDG gets a workable jet released) and configurations within MSFS for various aircraft (single/twin). I have throttle, mixture, flaps, etc. working with this trick. None of my expensive Jetmax flightdeck monitors or other controls work with MSFS though and after a few years of being spoiled with capability, I can no longer accept keyboard or mouse click controls - its not real at all. Other than “playing for fun (or wasting time)” in a 172, P3D has to be my default until they catch up and release some workable aircraft.
Until this time, exercise patience - probably for another year at least. I have blind faith they will get this worked out and MSFS will become the go to product.
Same thing since last update, tried to block higher FPS in Nvidia control panel, no difference, mostly it CTD already in the menu. I also have problems with other games via steam, no startup or CTD after 5 min. Strange thing that MSFS update causes problems to other apps.
Thx for the feedback. I have a paid version of fsuipc when I used pmdg on fsx. It probably is out of date but thx for letting me know of the workaround.
Had problems with random crashes since the USA update ,Tried everything including reinstalling it… I turned off AI air traffic and it worked for some reason…
Flew 15 legs for 32 hours and 53 minutes or 5,176 NM, all in Bonanza G35
3 CTDs, two in the air and one after landing.
The first in the air was above Manchester (very heavy graphic work load)
The second in the air was over the Channel, (very low graphic work load)
All crashes were with VSYNC OFF. No crashes with VSYNC ON (30 FPS)
Crash codes in Windows 10 event viewer were 0x c0000005 exception.
Crashing program was always Flightsimulator.exe
NO OTHER ERRORS
Also have sometimes some sound cracking (similar to other users) even after a full Audio driver reinstall.
No temperature problems.
So, the new patch improved significantly the stability but…still far from perfect and no silver bullet.
Computer:
i7 10700K @ stock
ASUS 1080ti @ stock
64 Gb of Kingston HyperX under rated @ 2400MHZ (instead of 3466MHZ)
Case HAF 912 with 5 fans + GPU & CPU
20 TB of HDD and 4TB SSD M
AX 750i power supply
It is obvious that something is wrong with the Ai traffic offline. Sometimes I can do flights without a single crash, on other flights the game crashes, no matter what level I have set for Ai-Traffic offline. My guess is that certain AI planes cause crashes - and whenever these appear, the game crashes, otherwise I can’t explain why it works once and then not at all. My system is an Intel core 7-9700k CPU 3.60 Hz with 32 GB RAm and the nvidia GEforce GTX 2070 Super. I play everything on Ultra. If I replace AI traffic with real-time online traffic, everything works, but maybe only because there is hardly any real-time traffic. A player reports that he also has crashes with this setting in China, as there is a lot of live traffic there, so I reiterate my assumption that individual AI planes trigger crashes due to incorrect programming. - I have already tried all of your proposed solutions to avoid crashes - to no avail. But what do you think of my assumption that individual Ai planes are faulty and cause crashes?
Have update all drivers and Windows to the latest, have set bios to default even though no changes were made.
Have run a memory diagnostic with no errors found.
My system is a i5 8400 16gb ram, gpu is msi 2070 super, everything was working well until the latest update of msfs. Other games that I dont start with steam works fine, so problem must be the last msfs update combined with steam.
