there’s an update coming?
I have two guesses about my endless CTD.
- This is simply a defective product, and no one knows what’s going on.
- After the MSFS2024 trailer appeared, programmers deliberately made the game so fragile.
I can fly for 12 hours with full addons, and can also get 0xc00005 instantly with almost no plug-ins (pictured, the most recent time).
In the past half a year, I have tried DX11 DX12, xmp off, OC off, LOD 100-400, uninstall game, reinstall windows, delete all 3rd part apps, resolve all molid conflicts, delete all POI and photo cities, offline mode, safe mode. I’ve tried a mix of these methods, to no avail.
I have a very powerful system 4090, 13900K. 64G MSI Z790 carbon. 1200W PSU. Hopefully the update in a few hours will allow us to not be afraid of CTD when playing games at conservative settings.

You can’t possibly believe that? I’m not sure in the list of things you have tried whether you had removed all Community addons, which can be a common source of crashes.
Since you mention you re-installed Windows, I can only surmise that either there is something fundamental about your hardware configuration that the sim doesn’t like, or more likely during your rebuild you simply re-installed the software, or combination of software, that it doesn’t like, re-creating the problem.
I really did this before. Even when I drive a Hondajet with a built-in mall in an empty community, it crashes in some busy areas of California or Paris. (Regardless of DX11 or DX12, HAGS ON OR OFF) What needs to be added is that I was able to fly from the central United States to Milan with DX12 DLSSFG on half a year ago, and I would go through extraordinary POI and photogrammetry tests in the middle. And at that time I put all the add-ons in the community folder, because I hadn’t started using the addons linker at that time. I think it’s an internal problem within the game update that causes these CTDs to occur more frequently.
And you’ve tried it without AI Traffic? That turned out to be my issue.
Looking forward to hearing about everyone’s experience after downloading SU14. Any CTD’s with 14?
well one flight is no flight after 10 months of CTD’S.

This is very intersting. I had three CTDs today after yesterday’s update.
They all have the same Fault offset, just like yours.
And another friend of mine told me that he also had a CTD today with the same Fault offset: 0x000000000245b669.

Fault offset: 0x000000000245b669 means or stands for? Many thanks in advance!
Think I’m done with msfs not worth the headache. Besides I’m not a tech and shouldn’t have to troubleshoot this for msfs.

Mine have seemed to stop…also updated to the newest Nvidia drivers
today I could accomplish the same flight with no changes without CTD

That’s good news! You’ve suffered these a lot from the looks of it. Other than SU14, you’ve made no changes you say?
It’s difficult to say, but it does seem like some users hardware/software configurations are just prone to them.
If it makes you feel any better, I have had one or two CTD’s over the last week or so, but every time it has happened in the same way, and was never in a flight so it doesn’t annoy me too much.
I launch the sim, complete a flight, go back to the main menu, pick a new departure point, the flight starts to load, and before I spawn at the airport the sim falls over. Relaunch the sim, and 100% of the time it works again.
It’s done that once with SU14. and I had it 2 or 3 times in SU13. Nothing at my end has changed so I have to chalk it up as another one of those random sim state bugs that are very hard to track down, and all but impossible for us end users. I hope any telemetry my sim may have sent Asobo is useful.
Rare enough, and impossible to re-create that I haven’t even bothered to log it officially.
CTD’s of this random type no one could find the cause and Asobo does not really address - I am having these kind of CTD’s since february.
since then I changed my mainboard, RAM, GPU
they still persist, also after SU14. after updating I had a normal flight, another with CTD and now one without.
after the update I did not change anythin in the add-on configurations and in-game settings / nvidia etc.
some users had CTD’s after SU14 only - they wrote me today - it seems when flying helis and using custom joystick profiles there is a CTD too.
