ISSUE DESCRIPTION
DA62 following manual checklist doesn’t start right engine since last beta-update. Both start engine buttons only start the left engine now. Right engine can only be started via automated quick-start-up.
Personal note: As a regular DA62 pilot, I know the system and checklists inside out. Since the last beta patch ( Release Notes - SU6 Beta 1.8.11.0 - August 5, 2026 ) and the fix “Fixed alternators and battery flickering and using a starter”, the right engine isn’t starting manually anymore. It seems like it’s connected to the left engine somehow. When starting at night, you can see the light flickering. Alternators are both on and ECU on auto.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time, it was only in beta, but it’s in SU6 now.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Select any airport and a parking spot for cold start
-
Follow the manual startup routine (e.g. checklist)
-
Try to start the right engine, G1000 and lights will flicker and the left engine is starting instead (only if not running already)
A second report has been merged here, highlighting how G1000 is also resetting, please see: DA62 manual right engine start not possible anymore - #7 by Zadma
YOUR SETTINGS
If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.
What peripherals are you using, if relevant:
Playstation 5 (beta & SU6)
MEDIA
Adding a screenshot of the start button isn’t adding a lot of value. Video can’t be uploaded due to size constraints, but it’s really easy to reproduce.
I’ve uploaded a video on reddit instead: https://www.reddit.com/r/MSFlightSimulatorPS5/comments/1vm909y/da62_manual_right_engine_start_not_possible/
