DC Designs - F-15 Strike Eagle (C, D, E & I)

I’ve said it again
I am on PC and having this issue, even if i press throttle from the keyboard or the xbox gamepad which i mainly use for everthing with no problems
The only way to have them synced is to push the throttle with the mouse cursor

It doesn’t happen on PC with a proper throttle, so it’s something to do with not having analogue controls ( keyboard and controller are pressed not moved ). It’ll get figured out eventually, and as it doesn’t harm the aircraft handling it’s not a world crisis, just something I would like to fix as soon as I can.

In a week of remarkable aircraft being released ( and I’m loving the P-38) I’ll always find time to fly my absolute favourite aircraft ever ( I photograph the real thing here in Wales )

Really wish Kai Tak was still open when I went to Hong Kong 3 years ago, but hey at least I can fly it virtually now

I swear..My F15 doesn’t have that nose camera like the F14 has

I just re installled it,in case the throttle issue was gone, but not…It’s still there and it cause the aircraft to go to the right, due to uneven throttle power.
Also, now i noticed this thing in the throttle sticks. Was it always there or not ?
It’s the C model

No that’s definitely not there on mine. Mine also doesn’t appear to list to the one side, thank god but perform strangely. I’m noticing it’s adding more work load to land it as one engine will be at idle and the other still producing a decent amount of thrust, making it harder to shave speed off for landing, So You really have to mash the throttle down making sure both are idle.

Are you on console? This throttle thing is really weird and I still can’t figure out why it’s happening, as the PC version is fine and the throttle code used is Asobo’s own stock code. Also, the animations are the same as the F-14, which doesn’t have this problem.

@SAKISAPPOLON No idea what that is in your cockpit, but if it was caused by the Eagles, then everybody would be able to see it. Very strange. Are you using custom cameras or something?

No cameras no mods.Only liveries.Hmmm..that one in particular has a Dessert camo something.Could it be it ?

Yeah I’m on Console. The more I notice, the more I see how inconsistent the issue is. There’s always one engine that lags behind a little or a lot, it doesn’t favor one side in particular at any one time. I’m also feeling during taxiing this quirk does affect it’s ability to hold a straight line as one engine is sometimes producing way more thrust than the other. So you have to counteract it with more rudder or greater throttle control as it does in fact want to pull to one side.

About how often does this plane receive updates? I’m seriously considering it seeing how much I love the F-14.

It always depends on the urgency of them, so is something relative. For example, this summer we had to carry out an urgent update to add the html panels and another to solve the problems caused by the SU5 update. Normally whenever we detect an issue or make an improvement on one product, we automatically review the others to see if they needs them. Updates are usually at the 3D model level, at the physics level or at the html level. I assure you that the f-15 is a very maintained product but it also involves the revision of 4 aircraft and not 1 or 2.

Thanks so much for the great response!

Definitely on par with the Tomcats mate, you won’t regret it. So far it’s making me look forward to SC Designs F16 and the legendary Concorde. I think we’re in good hands here :relaxed:

I found it. You were in the D Eagle, not the C! A tiny piece of mesh was left behind, which was the throttle in the exterior model cockpit - that’s the little block you can see in your image. Removed now, will be sorted with the next update.

No solution to the throttles though, still thinking about that and possible causes.

Yes it was the D variant indeed and i also checked all models with no liveries.
Thank you

I want to know why F15 keeps climbing up when it doesn’t operate the rocker. If I want it to fly flat, I must press and hold the rocker. When I release the rocker, it starts climbing again. Is it so difficult to control in reality? In addition, when I operate the rocker slightly, the nose will change direction greatly, nod up and down, and dance like a snake.

Recently, I specially purchased DCS F18 and jf17. I found that the fighter will only show the tail flame at the last detent of the throttle (I use tumaster Airbus). The F15 designed by you will spray the tail flame after exceeding 45% of the scale. Is F15 equipped with afterburner switch? In DCS, turn off the afterburner switch, and the aircraft will not have tail flame at any time.

The first and second questions are about the feeling of operation, and the third question is about power. Please answer for me.

Sorry, what is “rocker”? Are you trying to say joystick or yoke?

You know how to set trim, right?

I would expect a fighter aircraft designed for dogfighting to be highly responsive to even minor control inputs.

In addition, I need to feed back a question. In the game settings, there is a function to save a custom camera and quickly switch a custom camera perspective. You can try to set a custom camera perspective and switch to this perspective, and you will know what I’m talking about. I turned off the light and was driving the plane to see the scenery. Suddenly, a distorted face appeared on my screen. Can you know that at that moment, I looked like I saw Sadako? Please fix it. Both F14 and F15 have this problem, but other airliners will not have this problem.

Yeah the custom camera thing was a big issue for me as well. What I found is that on the F-15 you just have to go into weight/payload screen and remove the pilot by dragging the slider to 0%.

Same goes for the F-14. But on the F-14 you also have to go into the cockpit bottom right hand side where the pilots right elbow would be and there is a switch that says mask. Turn that off.

What is a rocker? It sounds like you are not trimming the F-15 correctly.

As for afterburner, it actually is coded to appear when RPM exceeds 95%, about the right area in the real F-15.

I don’t know how the joystick responds on a real plane. If you tell me that your work is closer to reality than DCS in driving feedback, I will adapt to it. I won’t compare the combat functions of DCS with simulated flight 2020, but I hope the driving experience can be closer to reality. In addition, I hope you can open more switches related to flight control. As for the tail flame, it may be because the civil aviation has a reverse thrust, so the starting position of the scale is higher than that of the fighter. When I pushed to the second card position, he began to spit fire.
