Discussion: Microsoft Flight Simulator now available via Xbox Cloud Gaming

You are doing nothing wrong and let’s hope some day they get beyond this limitation.

The, “Are you still there?” notifications are moderately problematic for a game that has autopilot… and I did get logged out once for not responding in time. Come on now, I thought I could be more casual on XBOX. :face_savoring_food:

Having to reset the XBOX controller profile to default it means you cannot customize it at all when using the cloud version of MSFS ?

There have been discussions about this. It is an XBOX issue when the same person plays on PC first. It is not a cloud exclusive problem. So your answer probably lies in a thread already if you dare dig for it.

This is very impressive! Congratulations to Asobo/Microsoft for this huge milestone! Making this incredible software available for as many people as possible is the right move.

Absolutely, I was hoping at least Keyboard and Mouse would work.

If they could make that happen, this will be next level gaming.

Thats cool as long the PC version doesnt get downgraded again!

I wonder if you have all the handcrafted airports as well?

I tried it also from Linux and it worked there with a controller. The resolution looked fine on my phone, but a bit low on my monitor (less than 1080p). Other than that it worked ok, but local mouse doesn’t work.

I wanted to try from my xbox but it won’t let me play cloud for an already installed game, which is a bit annoying.

I think this is a great step to increased availability, although I won’t be using it seriously until they sort out the input hardware availability. Flying on just a controller is a novelty for a short while but is not really viable for real use. I need the hotas and mouse to play it properly. On xbox I only use the controller to fly the drone.

Anything you already have available on marketplace is also available, you just have to install it on your cloud game. It’s very quick though, with datacentre network speeds. Everything else about the game is the same as the xbox version.

Its new, and I doubt that many are using it yet. As more payers start using the cloud version, I wonder how well it will scale ?

What sort of computing power is sitting back there on the cloud, that can support 1000’s of cloud MSFS players ??

Forgive me if this has been answered already, but do I have to be subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate even if I own the sim?

Yes I believe so for cloud gaming.

Hello,
is it really the only option to reset those settings from the PC version?
I played the sim on PC when it first launched, but uninstalled it since then. I was super excited to be able to play it in the cloud, because the performace should better than on my PC. I would like to avoid installing over 100 GB if possible

We had the creators of the Bing data centers to a couple of conferences on testing. Take one container car and put 2000 computing nodes in it. Now add 20 of those containers, and you have one cloud data center. They have multiple sites.

Xcloud simply runs on Xbox Series X mounted in server. They are distributed in different Azure centers across the globe. How many console precisely, I don’t know, but enough to allow service in 26 countries today (service was launch in beta in end 2019, and officialy launch in septembre 2020).
Before it was Xbox One S, they have replaced all by Series X (and finish this upgrade in octobre 2021). During 2021, part of the console production was not intended for sale but was reserved for upgrading Xcloud infrastructure.
