You can (and many do) fly night VFR in the U.S.

Thatās just funny!

FWIW, I have a 2080 with the same settings but I get only ~55fps. Not that Iām complaining. ![]()
No however there is vfr minimums. You do require more visibility for night flying especially Class G uncontrolled airspace.
Iām not sure I understand your logic. MSFS simulation is not about how many bits you push. Itās about how real it feels. After all, itās just a computer with roundoff errors, not reality. Further, Iām not sure what you describe is necessarily the definition of high image quality.
There are numerous studies you can google that show how people interpret the image on their monitor as they interact with the computer. Some people look AT the screen looking for errors. Others look INTO the screen and see the world it simulates. Even a [B|H]ollywood movie at 24fps requires some suspension of disbelief.
āā¦avoided at all costsā¦ā? Are you kidding?
There are different visibility requirements for day VFR depending on altitude, too. Doesnāt mean āitās instrument flyingā. Night VFR has its own set of risks and requirements, both weather and currency. But it can also be a very rewarding experience.

To put it simply: DLSS is noticeably more blurry than full resolution. Of course anyone is free to use it if that isnāt an issue for them.
Yes I know that but we are talking about night here not day ![]()
I get the gist.
So earlier I posted about my frame rate being like 87 fps or so⦠that was with the Xbox Game Bar on the PC ⦠well I just read how to check it with the built in FR under developer mode. So again with everything in Ultra, DX 12 DLSS I get about 50 -57 in the cockpit, and 64-67 external view. Not sure why it drops in the cockpit. This is with the Fenix A320 flying Phoenix - Memphis.
What made it even cooler was āAus Simmerā on Youtube. He showed some interesting settings for his system and they really loosened things up, while not taking from the experience. Cheers!
What Killer said. I have an i9, RTX 2070S, 32GB Ram and one monitor. Settings mostly Ultra, DX12 and DLSS. Everything so far sooth and beautiful.
well said, and sadly (even though we reported it on DAY 1 of the beta sim update 10), HDR is still broken when launching the sim in full screen.
Flew for about 3 hours this evening.
Hardly even a hiccup.
I was flying from NYC to Toronto, live weather.
A great day for flying.
It was a beautiful thing.
wasnt there some chatter about alt-enter or some key stroke to get HDR to work?
Another thing Iāve noticed is how fast the sim begins and ends. Beginnings are not lightning, but noticeably sooner.
If you launch the game in full screen mode, while itās loading hit Alt-Enter to get into windowed mode. I then have to take the window and ājiggle itā and/or move it to one monitor and back to my main monitor, then HDR kicks in and I can go back to full screen with Alt-Enter.
I agree . . . i9-9900, RTX 2080 Super; 32 GB, HP Reverb G2. Iām a low and slow kind of guy, but with DX12, DLSS/Quality And nVidia Studio Driver, I am in seventh heaven. 30-35 fps with most settings high, some ultra. Best simming experience in 40 years! Do I really need a 3080 ti?
Anyone else w/ a 3080 Ti and having the craziest stutters at KDFW? Some times when I start MSFS, things are so smooth and awesome. 5 hours later I spawn into KDFW again and every 10 seconds is a stutter. I just donāt get it.
On the latest Nvidia Studio Driver
3080 Ti
i9-12900k, 32gb RAM, DX12 DLSS = Performance
No matter what graphics settings I seem to change, the VRAM is still more than my alloted GPU VRAM. It was NOT like this in beta.
How can you tell it it is HDR? I know on other games I get some kind of notificationā¦I am not seeing any indication at all even with your method.
I have just about the same specs as you and I flew OVER Dallas, flying Phoenix to Memphis⦠no stutters, but you are probably referring to when at the airport? I can try that tomorrow, where you taxiing?
