Have you checked that the CDI is set to GPS, assuming that’s what you used in the Flight Planning?
Sorry if this is a dumb question - but is DX12 still beta? My only choices are DX11 or DX12(beta) after the upgrade. Thanks.
I had different experience.
Now I got CTDs everytime I went into a flight for around 10~60Mins, no matter I fly a default aircraft or PMDG738. even in safe mode I got a CTD after about an hour flight. I tried to empty community folder, remove MSFS via control panel then re-install from MS store, update Win10 to 21H2, update nVidia driver, still the same condition. Right after the SU10 update I got VCRUNTIME140.dll crash, but after I remove vcredist 2005, 2008, 2013, 2015-2022 and reinstall them with the latest build, the faulty module changed to flightsimulator.exe. I can’t think of other solution now except re-install win10. But I have seen someone had similar issue that still got the problem after re-install Win10 and clean MSFS. So I’m still considering this.
Yes, DX12 is still Beta. I’m using it with Studio Driver 517.40 and the Sim is very smooth for me.
LOL!
Reminds me of that popular expression- “…but your results may differ.”
For the record, though, I agree with you.
I may have misunderstood your problem, but are you clicking on the MSFS screen before trying to use the mousea and keyboard?
I only ask because I also have a second screen “extended” for LNM etc and am always forgetting that if I use the mouse on the second - non MSFS - screen then both the mouse and keyboard commands are disabled on the MSFS screen.
As a result mouse commands, keyboard shortcuts for ATC, VFR map, screenshots etc do not work (this last is annoying when you realise a particularly good shot was not taken because the other screen was “live”).
I wonder if the intermittent nature of the problem is because sometimes you have clicked and “activated” the MSFS screen and other times not?
I have also discovered that the FPS counter in the Xbox Game Bar provides a useful prompt as it only registers the frame rate when you have “activated” the MSFS screen.
Anyone else having the problem that there is no wind when there actually should be in Live Weather?
As you can see here, on the map there is a 17 knot wind indicated at ground level, but when I select the airport it shows 0° / 0 knot winds. Indeed, when I start the flight at that airport there is 0 wind and the water is flat as a mirror. Isn’t that an old bug that was fixed ages ago?
It doesn’t happen everywhere. I checked a few airports and some have wind when they should and some have 0 wind. But even when there is wind, it seems way too low:
It’s not just on the ground either. When you take off the wind is still gone/weak. I’d say 8 knots are a far cry from the 25 knots it should be.
Thanks for your suggestion. But I thing that’s a different story. The major issue seems to be that the msfs task in the taskmanager is not longer working and can not be reactivated. I will try a different scenario and let msfs run not in full screen but windowed. Maybe that will help. Again thanks for your response
To use autopilot on the VL3 you’ll need to install the Working Title G3X mod (note this will not work on Xbox, as it’s a community mod still).
You can then activate and control the autopilot via the Garmin touchscreen; the black oval at the top of the PFD is the autopilot annunciator; touch that to show the menu, then once things are activated it actually shows state there so it’s clear what it is. ![]()
I have an Acer x35 1000nit@200hz and HDR brings out life like colors for me. Very nice indeed. I’m not experiencing any of the HDR issues that were reported during the beta. I like this update so far.
Cheers
PACO572
Update loads all the 1,8GB then show up “error”.
Need to launch XBOX APP and some clicks on the circled arrow to complete.
Runs fine so far.
TBM930 geometry flaws are still there, thats not a brilliant achievement, why is it so difficult to finally eliminate these really small errors?
Yes, it is set to GPS.
Like I said, restsrting the mission (not the Sim but just that mission) puts everything back in order.
I made several flights today with G1000 and G3X and found the same issue with three different aircraft.
It was not the case before Sim Update 10.
Thank you for your effort, kindness and consideration.
No, you can definitely tell. Colors are way washed out (when in SDR) compared to HDR. That said, I am not sure the beginner would know, which caused some of the confusion during the beta. Technically speaking, you can also check if HDR is being outputted by 3rd party overlays, etc.
No problem, hope you can get it sorted.
Turn off developer mode if you have it on! I had the same problem and it stopped when off. I not only had waypoints but also airport outlines and runway outlines. The outlines would not start until I landed the first time and would not show at any airport until landing.
I truly believe, and I have posted it before, that Asobo is using the studio drivers because of their stability and because it contains “the same Driver” as the game driver MINUS the optimizations (100’s of game profiles.) Studio drivers are optimized for advanced “applications” and there aren’t many of them compared to games. Studio drivers get released every so many months, while Game drivers it seems you get a new one every month, new “game profiles” that is. It is used mostly by businesses that have to deal with 3D, cad, video encoding and production, and yes, software developers. That is why I believe that it is no coincidence for a driver that gets fewer releases compared to the game ones, to be released the same day MSFS gets released. How can Asobo tell us that the next Nvidia driver will give us a boost in performance if they don’t have that driver already to program the Sim with? Common sense. Somebody should ask Asobo which driver their studio uses. I bet the Answer is SD.
Another reason the Game drivers have not been released yet is because the “new and improved” Windows 11 22H2 is causing BSOD, crashes, loss of FPS, failed installs, etc, and it appears the common denominator is the "nvidia drivers and their "Gforce experience bloatware add on.
I rarely use developer mode, but I’ll have a look as updates can activate or deactivate prior settings. Thanks for the idea.
Was the flickering graphics on some buildings supposed to be fixed with su10?
As I still see it occasionally at some airports on Xbox series x.
I’m running the studio driver with Windows 11 22H2 and it has been great so far. No CTDs and super smooth performance. I have been very impressed. Even 3rd party products such as the PMDG 737 and Flysimware 414 run flawlessly. I agree with your comment about the GeForce Experience bloat. I always clean install my drivers (driver only) and never install or use GeForce Experience.
