Discussion: September 17th, 2020 Development Update

I know - the moderators of the forum need to get serious… if you can’t take people venting their issues, then close the entire forum. We can have civil discourse and still be productive and still be upset over lack of proper communication from Asobo.

The Patch allways delete my game files. I had to download the whole game again after the patch. Yesterday I was in the game for a few minutes ended the game and started it again. The game was searching for updates and told me that i have to download 110GB. i looked into my Game folder and all files were gone. The same happened to me just now. I dont wanne download the whole game every day. In some areas for example Insbruck (Lowi) the lightning is to high.

“Top voted” ??? When did we get to vote on “things that you would like fixed” ???
I thought we simply reported bugs? Are you saying “popularity” over-rides bug reports?

Are we going to get an issue where the majority of ppl THINK there is an issue, and a few know it is not an issue, just reality.
Will the popular vote get more influence than the sensible ppl that know reality is not like the game?

For instance, I imagine it would be more popular to allow ppl to spawn on the runway than not, yet any half-serious simmer who like a bit of immersion knows it is very unrealistic and annoying when you reach a decision height of 250 ft and an aircraft spawns 500 feet infront of you just where you are going to land, and then starts rolling down the runway at ramming speed.

If it came down to it, would the simmers lose out to the gamers?

Because they need time to figure out what broke when they merged the features into the release branch.

There is a voting feature that has been enabled in #self-service:bugs-issues & #self-service:wishlist that enables users to show their support for certain topics/issues.

While they are not a substitute for bug reports which are sent to Zendesk and are aimed at helping find the cause of bugs, these categories help MS/Asobo get an idea of what matters are important to the community.

Here are the current top-voted:

Having never really flown the airliners much before, I’ve taken two long flights in the 320 since the patch with zero issues. It followed the flight plan as programmed. Yes, I had to leave the APU on to overcome the left engine shutting down bug, but besides that, I have no complaints. (Other than “flying” airliners is boring when you’re letting the AP do all the work.) Seems perfectly usable to me.

I installed the patch and haven’t noticed any new issues on my end regarding crashes or autopilot failures in the TBM. I’m staying away from the airliners for now but regardless I just wish the developers could make more of an aknowlegement regarding all of the issues. I am fortunate and can get some enjoyment doing some VFR and when I need to get my fix of IFR in a heavy I can switch over to X-Plane for a flight or two. Plenty of other users are getting absolutely no enjoyment though with the CTD and other game breaking bugs and inability to download. I am frustrated for them more than I am for myself and a heartfelt acknowledge from the developers would go a long way in mending some of these relationships we are trying to build together to build a sim that “all” types of simmers and gamers can enjoy.

Oh my god, we gotta wait another week or even more. Can somebody tell Asobo what is a hotfix?

Just fix what you broke, we can’t play the game.

Can’t wait to go to EHAM or EGLL and watch 10 ppl all spawning at the same time on the runway in A320s lol

You guys need to do a better job acknowledging and assisting the freeware community too.

Many have tried contacting you, notable ones being the A32NX team, but you just left them high and dry with zero response or assistance.

Freeware is the backbone of the longevity and success of any sim. If you’re only assisting payware developers who have a history of overcharging customers for subpar quality products, forget about trying to appeal to a wider audience, you’d have lost the trust and appeal from your core simmer fans.

You said you’re focused on the core simmer, but you still are yet to prove it.

That is very concerning. In the all the marketing they claimed big support for the community and payware developers. But 3rd parties all seem to be saying the opposite. Maybe cause it’s a big mess right now and finishing the SDK is a low priority. Hope that’s just the case.

i hope next update will be not that gamebraking. before update i got no stutters and now i have them sometimes =( ill look out for the update in a positive way

The frosting makers need to wait for the cake to come out of the oven before they can get their share of the profits. If you don’t like it, then try baking the cake first.

also im not able to fly becasue after the update most time the games crashed without any warning or error afeter start or mid flight

Delete the community folder and let the sim generate a new one upon startup, see if that helps

Why is this a thing now?

They have said on a recent interview/podcast they have 10 people working on the SDK so it doesnt sound low priority.

The game uninstalled itself again. When i start the game and it is checking for updates it says i have to download 110GB. It is now the 3 time since the new patch was released.
